i am looking to refund the paypal transaction fees for some people who sell on eBay or craigslist or etsy in exchange for listing their items on my auction site as well. what would be the correct forum for that offer on fw?
We don't really have a location for that here. The only consumer to consumer trading (or selling) we allow is in the online coupon trading forum. While I wish you the best of luck, I don't think that FatWallet would be the place for it.
I'm subscribed to several threads and lately I've been getting email that appears to be coming from the threads but when I open it up its advertisements for stocks! If I go to the thread it is supposedly under, its not there! My feeling is that someone on the 'inside' who works for FW is doing this because it looks totally identical to the subscription emails I normally receive and the return address is the same! What the heck is going on???

I was wondering, I am the webmaster for a free sample site. Can I have a signature on my posts linking to my site? Or can I post links to the Totaly and Completely free offers that are on my site? (that I'm in no way affiliated with) I love the Fat Wallet site, and am in no way a threat to there massive site. I would just like to build some traffic.
Thanks!Actually, if you are the webmaster for a site, that qualifies as an affiliation. Sorry.
In fact, the reason we don't allow sigs is because people tend to put sites with which they are affiliated in them. Yes, this is not always the case, but that's part of the problem. If a good portion of people with links in sigs are promoting their affiliation, then it can be difficult to manage on our end.

I remember a general "baby" free stuff thread that listed a lot of the offers. I search the free forum for "baby" but can't find it. Does it still exist? Can I get a link posted in a reply?
Thanks for the offer...I thought there was a thread that listed many free offers for "baby" things. It was basically a one stop thread to look for things from the different manufactures of supplies and safety items to announcements and even a greeting from the President (At the time it was GWB...got it for baby #2, now I want to start prepping for baby #3).
I think there was a similar thread regarding birthday freebies that listed alot of restaurants that gave free stuff on or around your Bday.
If there are are 200 pages in a thread or forum topic how do I go to page 100 without clicking back page by page. It seems you can view pages 1-5 and then the last 5 pages but to get to in between I'm doing it the old fashioned way and I know there must be a quicker way.

In the URL, you will want to identify the post number after the thread number. For this post, the URL is:
The number 843222 is the number of the post. After that, just add "/start=XX", with XX being the number of the post you want to reach.
Before we put in that number, we need to do some math. Let's say we want to get to page 10. If we have our page set up to show 20 posts per page, for "xx" we would type in "200". So, using this our really big birthday free meal thread as an example, we end up with:
I know I should know by now but how do I post a copy of my receipt if I already have it scanned? I guess I should also say...are we allowed to post a copy of a receipt?
I have a really good deal info now. Where can I post it? Can I post here?Hi Bruce7899. Can you post it here? It depends. As long as you are not affiliated with the site in any way or stand to benefit in some way from the posting, then yes you can. If it is a general deal, it could go in the Hot Deals forum. If it is a totally free item worth less than $10, it would go into Free Stuff. If it is a financial deal, it would go into the Finance Forum. If it is a travel deal, it would go into both Hot Deals and Travel Discussion. If it is a grocery deal at a brick and mortar store (in a particular location), then it would go into Grocery Coupons & Deals.
I understand that I am able to customize my avatar with a jpeg/png etc. That's cool. I really like it.
I've noticed lately (since 6/2010) that others are also customizing his/her user title.
I am unable to loacate the option to customize my user title (I'm not referring to the user title drop down list found in the "My account...Forums...User Profile)
User titles beyond those in the dropdown list cannot be set by users. They are granted, changed, and removed at the whim of the forum mods. The first rule of user titles is don't ask for one. While you could potentially get one by asking, it's probably not one you want, and generally those who ask are denied.
Who is the most senior admin or moderator? You know, the one who oversees ALL other moderators on this site if people feel their concerns are not being addressed? And who does he or she report to if you're still not satisfied and would like the matter escalated?

I have seen other people post this, and I read the forum rules/q&a.....but I guess I am still lost. I tried posting a deal.....how do I know if it posted? If it did or did not, how do I know? Do I have to be a member longer to contribute deals?

No, that's the main purpose of FW. Just do a search by keywords from the title of your post in the forum, if it comes up then it posted correctly.
AmyLiz said: Hi! I would like to customize my avatar too, and I would prefer a wider variety of titles.Customizing your avatar is easy. Just go into "my account," click "my profile," and you will see the option. A wider variety of titles is not so easy. Only those on the list can be chosen by members, unless they are earned (such as by being on the leaderboard) or happen to receive one from a mod.

That link is to obtain a generic support ticket. I don't believe it get sent to the senior admin eg. mod supervisor. Everyone has a supervisor or reports to someone. It would be nice to know the hierarchy and the names or handles of those involved, but there could be a reason why this info is kept hidden.

We used the Support Ticket system in order to centralize our communication for staff. When you send in your Support Ticket, all you need to do is ask for the Senior Mod or Supervisor. It will make it there.

I guess one way to make sure your claims are handled to your satisfaction would be to not start a request in one place, then post a reply in another.
Additionally, you're going to need to accept that sometimes the site won't be administered according to your understanding of the community guidelines/the way things 'ought to be'. We try to provide explanations for our decisions, but we can't simply apply the rules according to everyone's interpretation because that's just a terrible, terrible way to do things. Not that we wouldn't love to, but it's not practical at all.
