Hi! Just joined. Can a more experienced user direct me to the best place on the site to look for holiday gift guides? Thanks!

Hi, quick question. I found the free screening topic. How do I set it up where I get an email every time someone makes a post to that topic? Thanks.

When you are in the topic, in the upper left hand side of the page (just above the first post), you will see links to:
Mark as Favorite, Subscribe to Topic, Tell A Friend, Text Only

Click on the "subscribe to topic" link, and it will take you to a page that will let you set up a subscription for that topic.

How do you add a store to your listings?

kjentp said:How do you add a store to your listings? Thanks for asking. However, I'm not clear on what your asking. Are you referring to the categories in Hot Deals? If so, then click "stores" and type in the store you want. Click on the store once it appears. Then, below that is a button that says "apply filter." Once you hit that, all entries for your store should appear.

Let me know if that's what you were asking

Hi, blond saver here. I just signed up last month and have been checking Hot Deals and Computer Forums since I'm in for a new computer. I came across the Microsoft Live Search Cash Back program and after reading several posts in both forums, I cam away with the impression that it is possible to combine LS with FW Cash Back. Is this true and how would one go about doing this? If this is the wrong forum for posting this question, sorry, I couldn't figure where else to post. Thanks for any answers.

Perhaps it will help if I relay a bit of info about how the Cash Back system works on our end.

Whenever a member is logged in, goes through the merchant's store page to reach the merchant's home page, makes a purchase, and doesn't violate any restrictions, a link is established that identifies FatWallet with the purchase. Because we are identified with the purchase we get a commission. It is from that commission that we share with our community through our Cash Back Program.

So in order to be eligible for Cash Back, you would need to use our system exclusively. If you were to make the purchase through MS Live, then they would be eligible for the commission rather than us. The two systems were not created to be compatible.

I hope that helps.

Yes, it does. I understood this to be the way both systems work. The confusion occurred due to an impression, either by me or several posters, that the two could be combined. I found it implausible, but I've experienced many implausible things in my life so I seek out clarification from those more experienced and knowledgeable than myself. I did try to search for this question, but Forum Search returned 5,000 posts. Thanks again for the info.

Hi, I work the online store for my company and I often create coupons for the store. Where do I post the deals that I make?

hi, I got a thing strange tonight and couldn't find right thread to post.
I was loging-in and reading today's FW posts. In one thread (sounds about Dell's deal) there is a link, I clicked it and it re-directed me to www.fatwallet.org. the web asked me user name/password again to login.
As said, I was login. why was I asked to login at www.fatwallet.org? I did google, there is no www.fatwallet.org. correct web should be www.fatwallet.com.
So my question, is www.fatwallet.org a spam? or a site hacked?

Hi blondsaver,

I know that we've had at least a few members where it initially appeared that the two combined. However, when the merchant realized that they had sent a report to both places, they sent a corrective report to remove it from one. My best advice is not to base any purchase on receiving Cash Back from more than one source. We don't want to see you disappointed!

Hi Scohoe,

We have strict policies against posting deals for a company you have any interest in. If your company is interested in advertising on FatWallet, please do contact us through about Advertising on FatWallet.

fatwallet.org is registered to us, although if you're logged in at the .com version, you're still not technically logged in with the .org version. They're distinct enough as far as your web browser is concerned that being logged in at one won't work with the other. Usually this is transparent with sites because using the 'non-standard' address will result in you being directed to the .com variety.

At least if the owner of the domain has registered for all the .com .org .net (etc...) flavors.

That being said, we'd love to get a chance to fix any broken links so they work as the poster intended. Could you perhaps provide a link to the topic in question?

As DevilMonkey noted, we do own fatwallet.com, fatwallet.net and fatwallet.org

They do not all redirect to fatwallet.com automatically because a few members have noticed that certain workplaces have flagged fatwallet.com as a forum and blocked them. Sometimes they do not block fatwallet.org so our site can still be used that way.

When you are logged in to fatwallet.com the cookies are set to that domain, if you click a link and it goes to fatwallet.org, it's still our site, same database, etc, but we cannot tell you are logged in because the cookies are set to a different domain.

Long story short, no, not a scam or bad thing at all. It's still us!

Really? Can it help if we're not a uber big company with loads of advertising to spend? We're small, we have about 18-20 employees, most of them are under-trained sales people since that's all we can afford. We run our own online store at [Mod Edit: Link removed.] where we sell the drinks we have available. I'd love to advertise but we don't have a budget in place for online advertising, I'm trying to figure out ways of directing traffic, and I figured I could post some pretty decent deals here on fatwallet, I make the coupon codes, so I may be able to make some requests happen.

If you still don't want me posting deals I'll go elsewhere, retailmenot and dealmein have been receptive so far, i didn't think I would run into this kind of situation elsewhere.

Unfortunately, I don't believe we currently have anything in place for such situations. If you go here and drop in your e-mail, someone on the affiliate team will get back to you and you can talk directly.
