Do you need to mention you heard a radio ad or something or do they just give this deal to every customer?

I'm in Chicagoland and they are all over the place. It's where I always get my haircuts - if they don't have a nationwide promotion going on, they always have coupons in local paper.

Same in SE Michigan. I've found they do just as good a job as the barber shops that charge twice as much.

Vain? 5 times as much? superior to everyone else? He just said you get what you pay for, meaning you get a nicer haircut. Don't read too much into it.
dang, I just got my haircut there today! As for a bad haircut, it all depends on the stylist, I been using the same guy for 2 years, does a great job!

It really depends on the skill of the person cutting your hair. I've been to a Great Clips a couple of times and had some okay results as well as some terrible ones. However, it's this unpredictability that really isn't worth the minute savings. They don't pay attention to detail, from what I gather, since they have no pride for their establishment. They also are most likely not schooled/trained in cutting hair. One time I went, they trimmed my sideburns and one side was at least a centimeter higher than the other. The other time, I accidentally said "fade" instead of "taper" and they never even bothered to correct me, and gave me an African-American style super close cut that was NOT even at all (looked VERY choppy in the back...where I couldn't see it).
While these places like Great Clips, Supercuts, Hair Cuttery, etc., are normally $12, they're the same thing as MacDonalds or another chain store which just hires unskilled employees who simply want to get paid for doing a job. I now go to a barbershop for $15-17 and get served by professionaly trained, pleasant barbers with pride in their establishment who understand that giving a good haircut brings customers back. They also have their certificates on display on the wall so I know they have been trained, and not jsut hired off the streets. I'm not saying that you need to go to a stylist, but I would at least find the closest local barbershop.
maybe I'll spring for this if there's one local. I haven't had a real haircut since getting my flowbee 6 years ago.

There is a difference, Jerry Curls are hard on scissors
I paid 12.99 for my trimmer at wally world. I use the 1/4 all over, then 1/8 on the top. It's great to have male balding pattern
I hate California.. we are $8.99. BTW, what is the base price in other parts of the world there? It has gotten up to $14 here, which is way too steep if you keep your hair short and you tip a few dollars each time.

Re the $10 NJ toll: Yeah, but fill your tank up in NJ (or rather, let the attendant fill your tank up) and you'll make the $10 back in gas savings.
