If you live in NE Ohio, haircut at a barber in the city costs around 7.00. Out in the burbs it is up to $15.00. When I was younger and poorer, I did cut my own hair for about a year with clippers and it came out great. It is just a hassle. Moving up from there I went to the Ohio barber college in Ohio City where it only costs $4.00. I have never had a bad cut from there either amazingly. Nowadays I just go to the barber shop here in Chinatown where I work and they spend a good amount of time on your hair and cut it to perfection for about $11.00 so that isn't too bad.

We have best cuts/famous hair (regis) and great clips as the two main chain haircut joints. Prices are are $11.99 without any coupons but the girls will always give you a 1.00 off coupon every time if you ask. I will have to check out the great clips for my two boys, the like that place anyway.

The best haircut I ever received was at a small Vietnamese barber shop in Lake Forest, CA. The cut was $3.99 and was done largely with scissors. I do not think that the young lady cut more than 1/4 inch at a time and after she was done, my hair laid down perfectly.

I went back six weeks later and her associate, a bald guy who looked like the character "Mr. Clean", was able to do the identical.

My problem with Great Clips is that they want to do the haircut in five minutes and the couple of people working there looked a mess.

But they were a lot better than Sports Clip.

Our newspaper had a flyer for $5.99 coupon for a haircut yesterday good thru the first or second week of Feb. Might keep a look out for it. Yesterday was the day the grocery ads come out in our area and it was in that issue.

Green for you. I go to great clips all the time for my haircuts. I just get a buzz cut with the clippers. If I was getting a fancy haircut I may shop around, but anyone should be able to run the clippers over your head.

....and ends w/ a happy finish!!

Thanks OP. I'll use this for now until I can afford a $1200 hair cut.

No go in Las Vegas. They said there are some coupons probably going out in early February for this market. The national corporation handles promotions, and targets cities and individual customers. For example, new customers will often receive coupons ranging from a $3 to $8 haircut to get them back a second time. Customers who haven't been back in almost a year may receive coupons too. Regulars generally don't receive any coupons. Radio ads and newspaper ads round out the promotions.

Just got my $12 haircut. Definitely happier with the person who cut my hair than the one I went to at another salon last month, so they may have just earned my business.

Anyone tried to get this deal in the Saint Petersburg, FL area?

Has anyone tried this deal in the Saint Petersburg, FL area?

No go at my Great Clips in Charlotte, NC. I just called and they said there was no walk in special, you had to bring in a coupon received in the mail.

I went to a Great Clips in Minneapolis yesterday, and ended up paying $14 for a bad haircut.

Redmond area in Seattle has it for $7.99.

Tell me about it, I just got one from a GC yesterday and paid the $13 from the only lady my wife will let me get haircuts from at the store. I'm about as "regular" as you can get and I didn't hear anything about it.

I'm unhappy.

Just got the 4.99 coupon in the mailer thingie looks like I can finally get my hair cut. I love and wait as long as I can for them to do the 6.99 or less deal because no matter where I go my hair looks the same so, I'd rather get it done cheaper.

HERE'S THE ACTUAL $4.99 PRINTABLE COUPON

Went to get haircut in South Plainfield, NJ yesterday and they did NOT honor the $6.99 special.

F'in charged $12.99 the !#%^$!%^@#$

There will be a coupon in the mail for 5.99 in the next few days (less than a week or so).

kromejeep said: How much do you tip for a $15 hair cut?

$10.00

Same as any waitress gets when I eat out.
Waitresses generally get paid less than $3.00 an hour, and deal with some crappy people every day.
Many of my ex girlfriends were waitresses at one time or another.
Tough pay to raise a kid on.

So, as long as they keep my wife's coffee warm n full, they get ten bucks from me.

Same with the person cutting my hair. If it comes out better than I could cut it, which should be easy, and it didn't come out pink or purple, I give em a ten.

Helps them a lot, doesn't hurt me much.

And, yeah, after a time, they get to like seeing me come in.

wow some of you people are pretty ignorant. did you know that you have to be licensed through the state that you are cutting in? and Great Clips requires all staff to be fully licensed with the state you are working in and they require you to get certified through the Great Clips hair academy. not to mention all the ongoing education classes that they require to attend and PASS I am a stylist and a manager of a Great Clips salon in west Michigan. and i worked in upscale and small home town salons the only difference is customer service. We are all about the customer and keeping them in there comfort zone. upscale salons are snooty and for all you people who are all about what your friends will think of you. I personally have a huge variety of clients doctors, unemployed, lawyers, stay at home moms and children ..... you name it we have had it and we don't treat anyone different they are all very important people to us and we have a very loyal customer base all because we have great customer service, haircuts and a great price go ahead and spend that 50 on a hair cut but that does not mean you are getting a better cut it just means you don't know how to spend your money wisely. Great clips is the #1 brand across the united states and Canada yes we are on top of Regis and all other "well known" salons.

those coupons that are posted on here are not legit look at them you can tell someone just cut them out and copied them and down in the corner on the right it says SF that is our code so we know what sale they are from and the ones on there are from the SHORT FUSE hair cut sale and those are out only once a year and they would be on a full 8 1/2 by 11 flier inserted in the local papers. with locations on them. and only one coupon on the bottom of the page. your best bet to get a coupon would be to be sure they have your address in there computer system and allow them to put you on the mailing list.

the other customers with no coupons pay $12.99 for their haircut based on what my husband said
thanks, billjriv

I am in the south bay area. I called 4 different Great Clips, and they all told me that the promotion ended last week...

What's the difference between a Good and a Bad Haircut?

Answer: Two weeks. Don't pay more than you can.

LOL. Looks like wifey has got you on a tight leash there.

THE $4.99 COUPON DOES NOT WORK! I TOOK IT TO 3 DIFFERENT LOCATIONS AND THEY ALL SAID IT WAS NOT A LEGIT COUPON.

I live in Charlotte, NC. weichichi, where do you live? maybe the coupon will work there.

$7.99 haircut sale in Central Washington. I printed the coupon smaller than the posted coupon since I've never seen them that large. Stylist told me at first that they didn't accept it. I told them it came in the mail and she asked if I had moved recently (new mover's packet). Anyway, she took it.

$7.99 haircut sale ends today.

Anyone have luck using the coupons?

My haircuts always take a mere 10-15 minutes...so why can't I find a place that will cut my hair for $5-6 bucks all the time? So instead I bought clippers to use on myself, and sadly it quite often looks no worse than the more costly haircut edition....wahhhh.

End whining

My $4.99 clippers have been working fine for the past 3 years.

Weekly trim : free

cost of gas driving to hair place: zero

time wasted reading magazines waiting for a chair: zero

Not having to give my life story each month and elimination of the comb-over : priceless

be very careful describing what kind of haircut you want. The word Short is a green light to scalping- whether used with the phrase medium-short, layered, etc. I was very disappointed (at my own lack of communication and the "cutter" who cut/sheared very fast). Well, hair grows at .5 inch per month. See ya in three months and I'll try to communicate better.

edit: Thanks Christo. I think next time I'll take a photo of Hugh Jackman, or Josh Brolin and say I'd like it cut like that. I am 60 with thinning hair--- So that would be a miracle.

I tell them the attachment size: number 2 all over (sometimes that costs extra ), no sideburns.

the 4.99 coupon did not work for me in wisconsin...

IrfanPathan said: GC in PA is having this sale in Feb 2nd week Is this the week of Feb 2nd or the 2nd week of Feb?

HUSSEIN1,

My experience has shown me that price has nothing to do with the quality of the haircuts that I have received. Some of the best haircuts I ever had were FREE! I have also spent as much as $70 and got a crappy haircut. It is not the price of the haircut that makes the difference. It is who is cutting the hair that makes all the difference. I have found a hairdresser at Great Clips who is terrific at cutting hair and she has a Manager's License. She works at Great Clips because the location is very good for her and since she is a mom with kids, she likes that they can give her a flexible schedule. Just because you spend a lot of money on your hair does not mean you look better than some of us getting our hair cut at Great Clips.

Every single Salon regardless of what they charge are ALL "Like a box of chocolates". They all have hairdressers with different levels of skill and training. Expensive salons can also give bad haircuts.

My coupon worked in AZ. I liked my haircut and the girl was very nice.

Each Great Clips regional market has different dates and prices. During these sales the computer automatically applies the discount, so there's zero chance you were overcharged if the promotion was in active at the time and place you received the service.

Does anyone have a printable coupon for Great clips that I can use in Phx?
Thanks!
Borz
