On Saturday, June 22, participants line up for the Bavarian Battle, a 5K obstacle run that follows a winding course through Leavenworth’s Bavarian Village. In heats beginning at noon, racers slip down manmade mudslides, scramble over mountains of tires, weave their way through giant replicas of spider webs, and brave other obstacles, all in hopes of earning prizes at the finish line. After the run, participants can gather in the beer garden for bratwurst, beers from local breweries, and live music.
