Creedence Clearwater Revisited – Up to Half Off Show

Going to a concert can deepen your admiration for the musicians, especially during the drummer's 20-minute bottle-feeding of a baby goat. Strengthen your musical bond with this GrouponLive deal to see Creedence Clearwater Revisited at Sands Bethlehem Event Center. For $31, you get one G-Pass for seating in rows 18–29 of the left or right center floor on Wednesday, January 23, at 8 p.m. (up to a $62.50 value, including all fees). Doors open at 7 p.m. Because the ticket is a G-Pass, Groupon customers can use it to enter the venue directly; they will not need to redeem their Groupon at will call.

From the moment John Fogerty growled the opening line of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’s macabre blues hit “I Put a Spell on You” in his distinctly swampy tenor, Creedence Clearwater Revival seemed destined for critical acclaim and legendary status. Although the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees and creators of massive Southern rock hits such as “Born on the Bayou,” “Proud Mary,” and “Fortunate Son” parted ways in the early 1970s, drummer Doug “Cosmo” Clifford and bass player Stu Cook reunited in 1995 for Creedence Clearwater Revisited, a project that began with small, private shows and ballooned to world tours. In discussing the direction for the revamped band, Cook states, “In the beginning Cosmo and I decided that if we could find the musicians that could capture the sound and recreate what the music was about, we’d do it.”

Lead singer and rhythm guitarist John Tristao is a vocal dead ringer for Fogerty, right down to the powerhouse vibrato, guttural rasp, and moss-covered larynx. Multi-instrumentalist Steve Gunner equally masters the harmonica, keyboards, acoustic guitar, and percussion, and lead guitarist Kurt Griffey harnesses his touring stints with the Eagles, the Moody Blues, and Journey to churn out flawless chord progressions on tracks such as “Bad Moon Rising,” “Have You Ever Seen the Rain?”, and “Run Through the Jungle.”

Sands Bethlehem Event Center

Sands Bethlehem Event Center was constructed only in 2011, and its striking charcoal-colored box still has the sheen of a piece of just-released technology. The space was designed so that no seat would be more than 137 feet or 20 Shaquille O’Neals away from the stage. Despite the intimate feel, the venue is large enough to support no-holds-barred audiovisual displays, and it regularly welcomes spectacle-loving national acts in a variety of genres.
