Alpinestars
These days, Alpinestars is known for the rugged attire of professional motocrossers, motorcyclists, and auto racers, as well as the edgy casualwear of everyday folk—but when Italian leather craftsman Sante Mazzarolo started the company in 1963, he named it after something neither rugged nor edgy: a flower. Around the time he founded the company, motocross started gaining popularity in Europe. Sante realized he had the technical skills to help protect the daring riders, so he released the first motocross boot, which revolutionized motocross apparel and replaced the riders' traditional bunny slippers.
Since then, Alpinestars has led the way in stylish protective gear for motocross, cycling, and other racing sports. Today, the company has also expanded its repertoire to include casual looks for men and women with an edgy, athletic vibe, both through its main brand and Oscar by Alpinestars.
