$10 Donation to Build Enclosure for Rescued Cats
The Issue: Euthanasia of Resident Cats at Shelters
Shelters across the country euthanize 7 out of 10 cats if no one adopts them, simply due to lack of resources, according to data from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Cats with feline leukemia virus face an even more difficult time finding adoptive homes because they require extra medical care. When properly looked after, however, these cats can live many healthy years.
The Campaign: Building Outdoor Enclosure for Rescued Cats
If 50 people donate $10 to this Grassroots campaign, then RescueCats, Inc. can pay for an outdoor enclosure to give FeLV kitties a better quality of life while waiting at RescueCats for their forever home. Thanks to matching donations from two anonymous donors, donations will be matched up to $700. Each additional $10 raised will go toward Harry's House, a living space just for cats with feline leukemia.
