BBQ Making + Moonshine Tasting

Dried ham and turkey are as much a part of the holidays as reindeer and mistletoe. It doesn't have to be that way, and this Adventure can be the meaty cure-all your clan needs: a barbecue sauce-making class and moonshine tasting at D.B.A. Barbecue. We'll arrive at D.B.A. Barbecue where LivingSocial staff will greet us and connect us with our guides for the day, as well as Matt Coggin, the chef dishing the sweet, spiced, glistening slabs of meat at D.B.A. who will lead our tutorials. First up is a moonshine cocktail to whet our appetites for what's in store. Next up, we'll prep for our lesson in learning about how to prep ribs, during which we'll watch Coggin's culinary skills at the restaurant's covered patio. While the pits are afire with succulent beef and pork, we'll be led through a lesson on mixing our own barbecue sauce, learning about both vinegar- and tomato-based varieties . After bottling our creations in a custom-made bottle and label, we'll salivate over the three types of specialty meats prepared for us, along with creamed corn and banana pudding. While we indulge in our meal, we'll sample three different varieties of Junior Johnson Moonshine and a bourbon. Poultry may be a holiday tradition in your house, but after this Adventure, we're guessing you may want to queue up some more delicious 'cue on your table.
