For over 20 years Austin Zoo and Animal Sanctuary has helped people of all ages to get up close and personal and observe first-hand big cats, exotic birds, reptiles, monkeys, amphibians, and many other species. Kids absolutely love the petting zoo where they can hand-feed the deer, goats and llamas, and in so doing come away with a much greater appreciation for all animals. Austin Zoo & Animal Sanctuary is a pleasant Hill Country zoo where the people of Austin can come to learn about the animals close-up, spend some time outdoors getting exercise, and have fun. It's a place where we Austinites can truly make the most of our time together. Austin Zoo and Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that relies solely on the support of the Greater Austin community. We are not government funded. Austin Zoo and Animal Sanctuary receives no city, state, or federal funding and that our mission is to rescue animals in need - mostly exotics, but also a few farm animals as we have space available.
