How a Doctor Became a Vintner
In the spring of 1982, Dr. Maurice Rawlings, Sr. bought 52 acres of land in the foothills of Lookout Mountain, with the hopes of becoming a farmer. When he was told the soil would only be good for growing grapes, he was, understandably, thrilled.
