All-Inclusive Resort on Samaná Peninsula in Dominican Republic
From overhead, the first thing you notice about Grand Paradise Samaná is the sprawling grove of palm trees surrounding it. The grove stretches all the way to the Atlantic Ocean, making the resort feel like a remote, exotic hideaway. There are plenty of activities to keep you occupied—jet skis and kayaks are available for rental at the nearby beach, there are two swimming pools and several restaurants onsite, and downtown Samaná is only about 30 minutes away.
The ocean is steps from the hotel, and you can take advantage of complimentary snorkeling-gear, windsurfing, and catamaran rentals. On land, play horseshoes, practice archery, or go horseback riding (extra fee). You can even get a free scuba-diving lesson at the pool or take an aerobics class on the beach. At night, the resort comes to life with traditional Dominican dance shows and an after-hours discotheque. The resort has two types of guest rooms: bungalows, which include mezzanines, terraces, and separate living and dining areas; and superior rooms, which provide either ocean or garden views.
During your all-inclusive stay, you can indulge in unlimited food and beverages from three onsite restaurants. Sea Scape serves fresh seafood, and the upscale Italian eatery Michelangelo serves dinner in a romantic villa-style dining room. Cocktails flow liberally at the five onsite bars, one of which sits footsteps from the shore.

The Samaná Peninsula juts out from the northeast coast of the Dominican Republic, soaking up the Caribbean Sea’s balmy subtropical temperatures. Its tucked-away, sugar-sand beaches are its biggest draw, followed by its exotic landscape: according to Frommer's, it's “as Casablanca as the Caribbean gets.”
El Salto del Limón waterfall is among Samaná’s most breathtaking natural features. You can ride horseback through the surrounding forests to get to the falls, which tumble over 165 feet of rocks and tropical vegetation. On the Dominican Republic's mainland, Los Haitises National Park is home to mangrove forests and limestone crags that peek out of the water.
