CAA Four Diamond Hotel with Abundant Niagara Falls Views
Niagara Falls crashes onto craggy rocks across the river from the Sheraton On The Falls hotel, the latest in a series of hotels occupying this one-of-a-kind riverside property. Nineteenth-century visitors could have stayed at the luxurious Clifton House, which housed Confederate soldiers stationed in Canada during the Civil War. The Clifton eventually went up in flames, but Sheraton claimed the land and opened its own hotel on the site in 1966. A renovation in 2000 updated and expanded the 22-story Sheraton On The Falls, but its biggest draw remains the unparalleled waterfall views guests have enjoyed for nearly two centuries.
A CAA Four Diamond hotel, Sheraton On The Falls offers Cityview two-queen and Cityview one-king rooms, which feature 37-inch LCD televisions and views of the skyline. For a scenic overlook of the falls, choose a deluxe Fallsview one-king room, which has floor-to-ceiling windows for inspiring views. At the aptly named Fallsview Restaurant, diners can admire unobstructed vistas of the upper river as it plummets over the brink. Located on the Fallsview dining level, the restaurant is outfitted with a buffet and live-action stations.
This deal also includes tours and tastings at two different wineries, Hillebrand and Peller Estates. Both are located in the nearby Niagara-on-the-Lake region, well known for its ice wine. You’ll also get a credit at one of two nearby casinos, Casino Niagara or Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort.
Niagara Falls, Ontario: Magnificent Views in Historical River Town
The Canadian side of the Niagara River has the best views of the American, Bridal Veil, and Horseshoe Falls. The iconic Maid of the Mist boat tours run from April to October, but the Journey Behind the Falls attraction stays open year-round. Board an elevator to descend through bedrock, leading to tunnels and observation decks steps from Horseshoe Falls' cascading water. Niagara's Fury, a recent addition, takes guests on a multisensory ride detailing the creation of the falls via special effects that enhance the interactive, 360-degree experience. For a scenic drive, take the 35-mile (56 km) Niagara Parkway, which stretches alongside the Niagara River from historical Fort Erie to the quaint town of Niagara-on-the-Lake.
