David Carvalho -- a local surfing pro and one of the elite Waikiki Beach Boys -- will spend the first 20 minutes showing you surfing techniques on the shore; then, you'll get a board and leash and take to the water for one hour of paddling, standing up, and learning to ride waves. Plus, you'll enjoy the thrilling sensation of racing down waves in an eight-person outrigger canoe. These rides last about 20 to 30 minutes -- to catch two or three waves. And in between waves, you can enjoy great views of reef sea life.
