An aspiring artist himself, Merlot2Masterpiece co-owner Jeff Bernal admits to needing some creative direction once in a while, too -- "I'll sit down on my own to paint, and I won't know what to do next," Bernal said. "With [sipping and painting classes], I'll have a completed painting at the end."

That means when you've completed your painting, your instructor can show you what it would look like framed.
JB: "Everyone's always excited to see it framed. I think we're the only custom framer in the Houston area that is also a BYOB painting studio."
As you enjoy a soundtrack of up-beat tunes and the food and drink you've brought along, instructors will make sure everyone's on track -- no one's gone off the rails yet, Bernal said.
JB: "We're going step by step through the painting with them, making sure they're caught up and on pace. Nobody's ever going to be left behind."
