They say it's the clothes that make the man, but sometimes it's what's underneath that's most interesting. Celebrate Carnival and the upcoming Mardi Gras holiday at the BLT Ball, where the dress code -- black tie and boxers, lingerie, or togas -- is strictly enforced. o $12 ($25 value) for one admission to BLT Ball 2013 o 9 p.m. on Friday, February 8 at Southport Hall o Limited to 1,000 guests o Ages 21 and older Scantily Clad in the Crescent City A NOLA tradition that began more than a decade ago, the BLT Ball has long been known for its saucy skin-baring partygoers, outlandish costumes, and raucous good time. When Hurricane Katrina devastated the area in 2005, the event was postponed indefinitely, but recent efforts have revived this Carnival season favorite. Head to Southport Hall on February 8 -- the Friday before Fat Tuesday -- to get your half-naked groove on, with live jams supplied by local group Band Camp. Be sure to catch a guest appearance by The Sirens of New Orleans, a philanthropic (and attractive) marching krewe. Food and drink are available for purchase, and the party lasts as long as you do.
