On Wednesday, February 20, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., local chefs and farmers vie against returning champion John Brown Smokehouse for the title of Brisket King of NYC. At the second-annual event, Santos Party House fills with the aroma of barbecued meats from cooks such as BrisketTown’s Daniel Delaney and a team from both Jimmy’s No. 43 and High Point Farms. Judges such as Stephanie Pierson (author of The Brisket Book) and the Food Network Kitchens’ Jacob Schiffman crown the winner as the 2013 Brisket King. For the event’s first hour, VIPs can snack on unlimited brisket and drinks from an open bar, stocked with wine, craft beer, and artisanal spirits.
