Botanica
Clad in glow-in-the-dark leotards and deftly manipulating sophisticated props, the dancers of Momix present a lesson in natural history using the medium of the human body. The group moves to the organic sounds of Vivaldi, birdsong, and tree gossip while evoking some of Earth's forgotten wonders, from the romance in miniature between bee and flower to the ponderous dance of the bygone triceratops. The creative drive and puppetry skills of the troupe also extend beyond the confines of the real world, with their movements displaying fanciful centaurs and strangely self-aware dandelions.
Momix's Botanica
Momix
Founded by Moses Pendleton in 1980, Momix pushes the boundaries of physical expression through a repertoire of high-concept programs. The group has appeared in multiple television commercials and on PBS' Dance in America, and its works have been broadcast to 55 countries and an unknowable number of alien craft currently in orbit. Pieces such as Botanica and Lunar Sea take inspiration from the natural world, and others such as Baseball and Passion (made in collaboration with Peter Gabriel) are rooted in a more human foundation.
Due to security restrictions, G-Passes must be printed out and presented in person at the event. They cannot be redeemed through Groupon's mobile app.
