The Scouting Report

As the 2012–13 ECHL season surges past its halfway point, the Jackals continue to jockey for playoff position against a trio of Atlantic Division rivals, including the Reading Royals on February 6—one of the top-ranked teams in the league. Through 35 games, the Jackals' 37 points has launched them into second place in the division. Forward Dustin Gazley—who a season ago became the fifth rookie in ECHL history to lead the league in scoring—has enjoyed an impressive sophomore campaign and currently leads all Jackals scorers with 37 points. Meanwhile, forward Artem Demkov leads the team with 20 goals, which, along with knowing his way around a zamboni cockpit, has earned him honors as the Jackals' "Hardest Working Player."
