Choose Between Two Options
- $49 for a three-hour Photography Fundamentals workshop (a $150 value)
- $69 for a three-hour Golden Gate at the Golden Hours workshop (a $175 value)
The Golden Gate at the Golden Hours workshop is valid only at the Sausalito location. The Photography Fundamentals workshop is held at the other eight listed locations.
During the fast-paced, hands-on fundamentals workshop, students learn and practice up to 100 photographic techniques, such as controlling exposure, focus, aperture, and shutter speed, leading participants to take their cameras to the next level and leave automatic mode behind. They may also learn how to use artificial and natural light and how to select the proper lens for snapping portraits, in-motion shots, or family portraits in bad Christmas sweaters. Participants explore their artistic side as they learn how to frame compositions and blur backgrounds for dramatic effect. They should bring their own digital camera for a hands-on experience.
Alternatively, up to 15 students start at the Golden Gate Bridge to learn about snapping sunsets, silhouettes, and dusk-lit images. Bring your own DSLR camera to capture the iconic bridge at day’s end with ideal composition, light painting, exposure bracketing, and filters. Slow-exposure photography requires a tripod, which can be rented for an additional $10. The Golden Hours workshop begins 1.5 hours before sunset.
