Symphony Silicon Valley - Up to 52% Off Shows

Conductors got their name by both guiding orchestras and wielding copper batons that deflect lightning away from the brass section. Behold an electrifying performance with this GrouponLive deal for a three-show Classics Season subscription to Symphony Silicon Valley, which performs at the historic California Theatre. Choose between the following seating options:

  • For $89, you get one ticket for orchestra- or mezzanine-level preferred seating at all three shows (up to a $187 value, including all fees).

  • For $119, you get one ticket for dress-circle or grand-tier premium seating at all three shows (up to a $247 value, including all fees).

Subscriptions include seats at the following concerts:

“Kurt Weill: Berlin, Paris, New York” on Saturday, January 12, at 8 p.m. or Sunday, January 13, at 2:30 p.m.

Familiar cabaret tunes and Broadway hits by German composer Kurt Weill transport listeners back to the musical landscape of the 1930s. Sung gracefully by soprano soloist Lisa Vroman, “Mack the Knife” from The Threepenny Opera and “Lost in the Stars” showcase Weill’s grasp on the social issues of his time.

An American in Paris on Saturday, May 11, at 8 p.m. or Sunday, May 12, at 2:30 p.m.

After warming up audiences with lauded compositions by John Adams, Erich Korngold, and Leonard Bernstein, the symphony closes out the performance with George Gershwin’s An American in Paris, an energetic piece about the City of Lights and its high electric bills. The five-section symphonic tone poem depicts a lonesome scene where an American visitor walks the streets of Paris as bluesy melodies articulate his homesickness.

A Hero’s Life on Saturday, June 1, at 8 p.m. or Sunday, June 2, at 2:30 p.m.

Debussy’s Danse opens the performance before guitarist Jason Vieaux mans his six-string and blazes through Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez. Ending the company’s 11th season with an orchestral bang, the entire symphony then bands together for Strauss’ A Hero’s Life, energizing the audience with its triumphant orchestration.
