$10 Donation to Provide Medical Care for Animals
The Issue: Euthanasia of Cats and Dogs in Shelters
Shelters across the country euthanize 5 out of 10 dogs and 7 out of 10 cats if they are sick or have not been adopted, simply due to lack of resources, according to data from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Many of these pets have treatable medical conditions and injuries that could be cured or managed with the right medical supplies.
The Campaign: Funding Medical Supplies for Animals
If 50 people donate $10 to this Grassroots campaign, then Animal Rescue Coalition (ARC) can fill its emergency medical fund for two weeks. When Sarasota County Animal Services picks up sick or injured animals off the street, the ARC emergency medical fund supplements the transportation, treatments, medicine, and supplies to provide medical care to the animals. Each month, the medical fund helps save about 30 animals. Each additional $500 raised will fund the medical-care pool for another two weeks.
