Resort near Ski Resorts, Casinos, and Lake Tahoe
The roofs of Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort, long and lined with sharp peaks, seem to pay homage to the Sierra Nevada mountains that encircle Lake Tahoe. Located on the lake's southern edge, just outside the town of South Lake Tahoe, the resort grants easy access to the region's countless natural wonders. And after a day spent hiking or skiing, it's an easy trip to the bars, dance clubs, and blackjack tables in the casino district just a mile away, across the Nevada state line.
Guest rooms at the resort are decorated in understated earth tones. After whipping up a meal in the attached kitchen or kitchenette, guests can sit down at a dining-room table tucked neatly against the wall. The front desk rents out DVDs for you to watch on the room's flat-screen TV.
For more indoor recreation, there are pool and ping-pong tables in the resort's game room. The heated swimming pool is partially enclosed under a canopy, but even with snow on the ground, an outdoor half remains open to catch ski jumpers who overshoot their landing sites.
