I'm not used to routers that cost this much. Is it worth it?
Is there something just as good for less money?

Great router. This is the first router I've had that didn't need constant reboots for one thing or another. Range is excellent. I have gone the "less money" route but it always ended in frustration.

This is an excellent router. Definitely worth the money. This can be flashed with custom firmware like my favorite, Tomato Shibby, which allows for many advanced features like built-in OpenVPN server, DNScrypt, bandwidth limiter, traffic stats, etc. It also has excellent range. Not all routers are created equal. There is a good reason some routers are more expensive.
