Takes too long to ship. I ordered a laptop sleeve on July 13, and it said it would ship by Aug 1. It now says Aug 28.

Have to agree with fluker. Saw a great deal for a TV at 2:00 am on a Sat. Ordered it. 12 hours later Amazon cancelled the order without any explanation. Had to go digging thru my e-mail to find the order & Amazon claimed that it had run out of the TV. I can re-order it but have to pay $00 more than what I paid yesterday. Very dishonorable

I have found fantastic deals at Amazon, and have had NO PROBLEMS at all with getting the sale price, as long as you purchase it when you see it AT THAT PRICE. You can't see a great price, then sit on it till you feel like getting it, find out it's gone up, and then try to get the previous price on it! Come on now!
That said, they have a fabulous post-order price guarantee that if the price goes down within 30 days, you email them about it and they'll make an adjustment to your account. You can email them by going to their HELP section, and you'll see the EMAIL US option along the right hand side.

When you read comments here, it's important to note the ACTUAL purchasing experience when you consider the comments. One person telling you to avoid Amazon, when they've only had one experience with them, is ridiculous. I have purchased over 200 different items over the last year and a half from Amazon, and I have to say Amazon IS EXCEPTIONAL! Out of over 200 purchases, I've had only 3-4 occasions to contact Customer Service, and they were fantastic, handling the problem professionally and to my satisfaction. Shipping has been great, WITHOUT A SINGLE PROBLEM. Returns are super easy, all automated for the ease of the customer, and you have 30 days to return items.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Amazon!

Amazon has become a nortorious "fishing" site like the camera shops at Brooklyn, New York city. My story begins with a good pre-sale advertisement about a Philips DVD player DVP8592. I submit my order and wait. After almost one month post their promised shipping deadline, I still have nothing in hand! During this time, they did have their first stocks of DVD player for a while, but they didn't want to ship it to me because my pre-order price is below their sale price!

So be very careful about Amazon, if there is some good deal for you, that would be a bad deal for them. What ends up will be you will never get any deal from them! They will postphone shipping day after day, year after year, until you yourself get tired about it and cancel your order.

Fatwalleters, be alert about any good deal on Amazon!

Any good deal on Amazon might be too good to be true.

I never buy during the holiday season so I can't comment on that but when I did pre-order for my DVDs and just general shopping, I always get the stuff on time and never have any issue. They even price adjusted my DVDs and refunded me a few dollars because they decided to price it lower. Great online experience.

I ordered a carpet steam cleaner at lunchtime on Tuesday. It arrived at my home at 12 noon on Wednesday! I could not believe how quickly I received my order!
