I've shopped at amazon.com since shortly after they started with satisfaction. It was a repuable merchant that was shiping out orders before deadlines. But it wasn't so for the last 2 products I ordered from their electronics dept. just over the last month. Is it a decline in their service? High volume? Others, please comment. The most frustrating and unexpected was for a Canon scaner that "usually ships in 24h". It's already been almost a week since I palced the order and my card was charged. Today it would have been delivered .. only if it were shipped. I spoke twice to the customer support - no much help - they blame UPS tracking system for nonaccuracy, advice to seek the package from UPS and refer to amazon's delivery estimetes, which for 24h shipping/processing and ground service (3-5 days) is 2.5- 3x extra = 11-17 days.
The point is that my c.card was charged, the product isn't shipped and they do not want to admit it and so far have only hassled me around. Have been suggesed "to wait" and see, contact another dept., contact another company (UPS), well, the usual BS of a sleazy retailer. I never got confirmation email for shipping. The parcel is not in the UPS system; only "billing information received". The item had obviously not been shipped. My c.card was charged almost a week ago. I'm seeking for resolution.

Amazon is by far the best etailer. Shipping is fast, products are well packed, prices are competitive, they have great clearance sales, and customer service is fantastic. They even have coupons quite often.

I haven't really ordered that many things from amazon, but so far, when I do make purchaes from them, shipping has been fast, customer service has been great, emails and questions were responded to very quickly. also, I scored big with a digital camera with their goldbox promotion.

amazon.com has been a sterling example of e-commerce stores to buy items from on the web, for me anyway. I do an extensive amount of my Christmas shopping using Amazon. I have purchased books, software and hardware from them and, to date, have had no problems. I enjoy the recomendations portions of the site as they can make my shopping a little easier.
The new addition of the GOLD BOX feature hasn't produced anything that I would be interested in purchasing so far. I try it whenever I go to the site but haven't seen anything that jumped out at me to purchase. I have looked at the auctions on Amazon and to be perfectly frank I am more comfortable using eBay for my auctions.

I've made more than a dozen purchases in amazon.com and I have always been completely satisfied. They always offer good competitive prices (for some high end products the price is much better than retails stores). I can also always find a coupon on FW! Their CS is A+. I had a defective Sharp Viewcam Mini-dv camcorder sent to me and they returned it without a problem even though it had been 29 days! Sharp had an issue with the head on the camcorder and the problem would not show until after quite some use. Amazon dealt with me directly (instead of directing me to Sharp's notoriously bad tech support). All returns are sent with prepaid labels. Amazon is the best! I've actually had delivery problems on two ocassions but both times CS stepped up to the plate. Once they promised an item by a certain date and it hadn't arrived (it was a birthday present). They apologized, upgraded the shipping to overnight and issued me a $25 GC (I got the item a day later but I was definitely satisfied)

I've had good experiences with amazon, but had a friend who ordered stuff for Christmas, and was told it would be delivered before Christmas, and after many emails and complaints, the stuff finally arrived in January.

I've always received the best service from Amazon. I've yet to contact customer service as they have always delivered what they've promised on. The best and latest deal I got was the Motorola V60 mobile phone for free!!!!!

I've never bought anything from Amazon. OK, that's not quite true, I've ORDERED from them twice, (both digital cameras) because they had a great deal going, but chickened out a couple of hours later both times. The order process is VERY easy to cancel, I can tell you that much for sure!
