Most people that have good experiences won't take time to write in so that's probably why there are so many "bad" experiences listed. I've never had problems with Overstock and I've ordered things from them for about 4 years. I've been satisfied with the products and the prices. Their website is getting better over time but it's still average. Wish there was a way to restrict my search by several criteria, not just one. I'll buy from them again.

Hello,
My name is Anadina, I placed an order with you guys on Wednesday the 13th of December. I paid 50 dollars extra in order to have my items shipped 2-3 business days because I really need them on time for a gift exchange at my company's Christmas party. It's been now 5 days and there is no sign of my items. I have contacted the Customer Service department numerous times and the answer I keep getting is to wait to the next day and that my items should arrive then. I was told to wait yesterday and they didn't arrive today. The representative then proceeded to tell me that it takes two extra days just to process the order, so when one chooses 2-3 day delivery one is really choosing 4-5. What I want to know is why is this bit of information not stated anywhere during check out so that people can either pay for other methods of delivery or go buy somewhere else. What really frustrates me the most,is that I keep being told that it would take up to 4 day just to trace the package and that by then, if I don't have the items they'll replace them at no charge. Moreover, I don't even get a refund of my purchase until then either!!!. I cannot wait until 4 days which is why I paid extra for delivery to begin with, nor can I afford to go buy extra items just in case. I think that these items should have been sent via UPS and not postal service, which proves me that you just took my money and opted for the cheaper delivery version, and now I'm screwed. I have ordered numerous times with you in the past few days, but after this experience you can count on me not returning to your website to shop.

I have ordered from overstock many times and I have never been disappointed. I was surprised to see all the negative reviews. I have ordered blankets, gift baskets, jewelry, lawn furniture, and clothes. Everything came in just as ordered and in a timely manner. I found the customer service very helpful and accomidating. I order from them at least monthly and absolutely love this site. bb

This is also my first and last experience with Overstock--the "canned" CSR responses are so frustrating; I'm just going to absorb the return shipping cost and be doine with it.

First and last deal I'll ever do with Overstock. Received someone else's order. They won't send the correct order until this is returned but they've failed to send the return label 6 times now. Lots of promises but no delivery. Finally went to my credit card company to file a dispute for undelivered merchandise. Simply a terrible experience with a bunch of canned responses from cs.

I preordered a book from Overstock that was listed as shipping the following week. The date keeps changing on the site so I finally called the publisher to ask when it would be released. It will not be out until MARCH 2007! I contacted overstock with live chat and was told they could not cancel the order. Then I contacted them by phone and Sammy R. told me that she should be able to cancel it but that it would take 1-2 business days. The next day I got an e-mail stating the book had been delayed again and I could call to cancel if I would like. Tonight I got an e-mail stating they will need to contact me in the next business day to ask some more questions. Screw that! I will be filing a fraud report with my card issuer on Monday so that I can get refunded. I will never shop at Overstock again.

A few months ago I left a comment describing my miserable experience trying to settle a problem with a damaged item Overstock sent me. At the time, I was in the middle of trying to settle yet another damaged item issue (a rug I ordered from them had a glue stain on it). This experience ended up being even worse than the first. When they finally (after FOUR online chats) sent me a return label, I packaged the rug up at my own expense and took it to the UPS Store. When they scanned the return label, it turns out that Overstock had made it good for just ONE POUND! This was about a 7 foot long, HEAVY wool rug that probably weighed at least 10 pounds! I ended up paying an arm and a leg out of my own pocket to ship them back their damaged (and might I add, ugly in person but not online) rug. I have not bought anything from them since because I'm too scared about what will happen. They are certainly a gamble. I was shocked when I discovered today that they've been rated 4th best in customer satisfaction in the country! Who did they sleep with to get that rating?!

I just made my first Overstock purchase and tried to apply one of the Fatwallet coupons, but for some reason it didn't go through. I used the Live Chat customer support, and they credited the money back to my credit card immediately, with no problems. Fantastic customer service.

I had a good experience with the stuff that I ordered and kept. Returns are a TOTALLY different issue. They charge you for shipping back to the facility and if you lose the email that includes the postage-paid return lable, they still charge you for it, plus you have to arrange for shipping on your own. They won't re-send the email. THEN they charge you a re-stock fee. The charges added up to about 10 bucks per item per return, and I only paid about $50-65 per cloting item. So, buy items that you are SURE you will keep.

Check the bottom of the page for restrictions on the coupons. Even though at the top it says "any order" the coupons I tried did not work on media only orders.
