I ordered once from Staples. They delivered quickly. No problem. But be careful with their promised rebate return. I filed my rebate in May, 2003 electronically, so I can track my rebate online. They issued a check to me 2 month after. I still didn't receive it. So I have to ask them again and again. They keep saying that they are going to issue me another one. But I never receive it until now.

I've ordered from Staples several times before, printer supplies a scanner, etc. Monday I finally decided on adigital camera for my wife, a Canon A70. Much to my dismay everyone was out of stock (or lying on their web pages). I decided at the last minute to check out Staples, they declared it in stock but due to demand would take 3 days to deliver instead of 1. No problem! Received the camera today as promised with free shipping. I'm sorry others have had problems, but they have been perfect to me every time I've used them.

As of February 23rd, 2003 Staples will be changing their price matching policy. They will NOT be matching ANY Internet sites. This is largely due to fake sites being created by frauds to steal from companies that try to help out the general populous. You will still be able to price match other competitors as long as they are within a 50 mile radius.
Now on a possitive note, until Saturday you can get some GREAT PC deals! A Compaq 6000Z BTO computer with an AMD 1.67 Processor can be as low as $300 + $75 shipping. There is a $200 off coupon code (34573 ) this week that will come off at the register, plus they have $50 MIR on them. The coupon code can be used for ANY custom PC or Laptop! Just log onto Staples.com or visit your local store.

Staples cancelled my Toshiba Notebook order without noticing me. I called the 1-800 number and was told they called me and left a message and I didn't response within a certain time. I didn't receive any phone calls from Staples nor any messages at all. Also, they are not willing to provide any written document (by fax or email) to explain the reason they cancelled my order. I want to collect the evidence, since it is easy to prove if they are lying or not.
Anybody has any idea how should I complain this? Can I request Staples to compensate my loss? Thank you very much for your advice. Online order from Staples is for sure unreliable. You have to watch closely on it.

Twice in two months I had placed an order for a printer (once a Laser printer and the other time the Canon 7-day sale special) and both times the printer was not shipped. Then when I complain to customer service, I get back an e-mail that shows they did not even understand my complaint (also the CSR doesn't know the difference between "there" and "their").

My company purchases a few thousand dollars a month from Staples...however, after their latest fiasco involving the recent "7 Day Sale" we're making the switch to Office Depot.
I ordered the Canon F50 (along with several other sale and non-sale items with an order total of nearly $700 after coupons. This was early am on day one of the sale and the order process went as expected (item showed as IN STOCK"..I received a confirming email stating that I would receive the products BY 1/29/03 via Staples Courier)
I received everything but the Canon F50...I called Staples and was informed that the product was limited to stock on hand and I just didn't order fast enough (never mind that I had a confirming email). I don't buy this...Staples took orders for more product than they had...I believe that that constitutes fraud. Staples is large enough (over 50,000 employees) old enough (15 years old) and experienced enough at the E Commerce game to have a real time inventory. I think Staples' actions are despicable and I think legal sanctions should be brought against them for fraud.

I ordered an item in the first ONE MINUTE of a "7-Day" sale (in the early morning hours, just after the website updated to the correct advertised sale price). The website said item was in-stock, and let me place the order. This made perfect sense, as I had reason to believe that my order was one of the first few orders placed considering when I placed it.
Later that day, the order disappeared from the system, and on the day of delivery, I get a canned email stating that my order was cancelled, the offer was while supplies last, and that they would not backorder the item. I also read on the FatWallet hot deals board, that multiple persons who placed their orders hours AFTER I placed my order got their order shipped UPS. My order (before it disappeared) said Staples Courier. It looks like those who got theirs shipped UPS got their orders, but those (at least in my case) whose order was scheduled for delivery by Staples Courier, got nothing. Bad business practice. I will start buying all of my office supplies (aside from the loss-leaders and free after rebate items) from Office Depot from now on - Office Depot delivers.

What you have to relize with Staples is that they drop ship with so many companies. When dealing with thier CSR's ask them if the items in question were special order items or ordered from another company. This is really huge as if it is such as these Christmas cards you have wasted your time with thier CSR's. Go to here to find out more about your holiday cards. Hope that helps you out.Text

Avoid Staples orders online if you need shipment in a reasonable time. Until this month my experience with Staples was somewhat positive. However, that all changed with an order for customized holiday greeting cards, which order was confirmed on 11.22.2002. After about a dozen phone calls, and promises that a representative would call me back, nothing happened. I sent another dozen e-mails asking for the status of the order, emphasizing its time sensitivity. All I got in response was a voicemail telling me that I should call back the 1-800 number.
The was by far the worst online shopping experience I have ever had. My attempts to get a response from Staples have gone nowhere.
I would avoid ordering holiday cards or anything that you have to count on by a certain date from Staples. Customer service apparently doesn't exist there anymore. isgust
