I am a longtime member of both Sam's Club & Costco. Both chains pretty much carry the same items, with Costco carrying much more grey market electronics. All-in-all, I prefer the quality & prices of Costco merchandise but there are many times when Sam's carries an item I need that Costco doesn't have. This happens often enough to warrant the extra membership costs.
Now that Sam's Club is mimicking the 100% satisfaction return policy of Costco there is less and less difference between the two chains.
