I purchased a home theater system from Butterfly Photo through Amazon.com. I received excellent customer service. The item was shipped via Fed Ex ground and actually arrived 1 day before schedule.

Ordered a Sony amp from them. They were rock-bottom price, honestly there was almost no margin in it for them. They took days to acknowledge my order, and left one voice mail saying I need to call them back (angling for accessories). I did not call them back, instead emailed and asked when my order would be acknowledged. It then shipped it promptly with 2-day shipping that I had not selected or been charged for (with a tracking number). It was double boxed and the outer box was kicked around so much it had no corners left on it. Still, the unit came through fine, CHEAP and fast. Thumbs up.

Thumbs down on Butterfly. Even though you place your order on the website, they still call you. In my case they tried to upsell to faster non-free shipping, then tried to add an extended warranty.
My TV would have shipped faster if I bought the faster shipping. So far they have not shipped as quickly as the website claims.
My advice, pay a few extra bucks and purchase from Amazon.com.

I needed a camera to use in my classroom. Something inexpensive and not too complicated, but I wanted it to take good pictures.
The Butterfly Photo website made it easy for me to compare the different cameras and their features.
I received my camera within a week and was able to take pictures on our field trip to the museum.

Forgot something = Buy via CREDIT CARD. And this is never necessary,, (From butterflyphoto's website) "For an RMA number (Return Merchandise Authorization) call Customer Service at 800-339-9960. All Returns require an authorization number. Please note that an RMA number does not guarantee final disposition. All returns are subject to inspection."

sent me wrong stuff will not replace or answer phone calls. However my credit card company said just send the stuff back via a system that tracks delivery (UPS, Fedex, etc) and they have to accept. Not a helpful company - where is the FTC?
It's a shame that this co is not under the stores list where more people can see it.
My reocmmendation - do not shop here

Order was placed on 4/5, then got multiple emails and phone calls asking me to call back at ext. 246. The csr Sam was rather pushy, after I refused to purchase any accessories, he agreed to ship the item immediately.
Their webiste provides absolutely no tracking information. So I called back today (4/14) for the order status, and was only shocked that they haven't been able to ship it, while my credit card was charged on 4/7!!!
They said they will ship it today or I can cancel the order without any apology, and of course, I went ahead and got it cancelled. Will never do business with these suckers.

This company simply suck!
They are not doing honest business. The first time I called in to order, they take my credit card information down, and then after I refused to buy their rediculously overpriced batteries, suddenly their computer froze and couldn't take my order.
Later when I called in to order, again after I refused to buy their accessories, they put me on hold and then dropped the call without a word, for FOUR consecutive times!!!
You can find better price and honest business on pricegrabber.com, don't waste your time on this trash bin.
