BUYER BEWARE!!!! Vitacost TRIPLE charged me for an order on my prepaid card - two times during the purchase day and one more time during the shipping date. It's not a small order (>$100). I confronted them on this practice (is it even legal?). They said they were "pre-authorization" charges and will fall off within 7 days. That means I can't use my own cash-loaded prepaid card for 7 days because of insufficient funding due to this hold!!

Vitacost used to be good company, but not anymore. Their customer service are horrible and do not respond to any email. Their live chat link is not working and I was placed on hold on the phone for 15 minutes and still no live rep. I placed an order as week ago, but the status still showed not shipped yet.

I like Vitacost a lot, they carry many organic/natural products, at significantly lower price than local stores. Selection is great, shipping is always fast, I ordered twice (without knowing FW CashBack ) and plan to order more in the future (about the put in an order today). Since they charge shipping, I usually group my purchase and place an order like once every 4-6 months.

I like Vitacost because I can find good prices for what I need and they support NSI products which are less expensive, the flat rate shipping of 4.99 is good too

If you do not mind the hassle (missing items, wrong shipping address, their prices are among the best you can find. Ordered from them twice and they manage to screw up both orders.

For the last 4 orders, I didn't get any CashBack from them. Customer service rather primitive. However, good products overall (I must admit) and price is fair.

I've been ordering monthly from Vitacost for a year and a half and spend about $175 a month with them.
PROS: -prices are the best, hands down -product selection is very good overall -flat rate shipping is only $4.99 -product details include customer ratings -product details include inventory status (e.g., ships in 24 hours vs. ships in 7-10 days)
CONS -Shopping cart is 'buggy' - I've placed 2 orders where my credit card was charged but the order was not received/processed by Vitacost system. If you do not receive an email confirmation very soon after placing the order, call them to verify. -Shipping time varies; it's rare that my order is shipped within the claimed 'same day' time period; however, I've had orders arrive in as little as 2-3 and as long as 8-9 days. Average time seems to be about 5 days. -I've had problems with 4 of perhaps 20 total orders; 2 were missing products and 2 contained damaged products. All problems were resolved by customer service. -Email customer service is spotty; I've gotten slow and/or no response to email inquiries in the past. If you have a problem, you're better off calling them.
twice (credit card charge despite shipping time varies (I've had my order take anywhere from 2-8 days to arrive)

I placed an order and it was shipped shortly. However, UPS screwed up the delivery and package was rerouted. I asked to be credited shippinh charges, but the site refused. I will NEVER order from them again.

My order arrived on time. Order was complete, discount went through with no problem. No pop ups with additional discount offered.
Only problem, I was charged twice. Second charge was placed a few hours later than the first. Called CV. CV was polite, said that was customary and the 'preliminary' charge would fall off. I waited 2 weeks, extra never did fall off. Emailed them then. Was told I needed to provide them with my credit card number on file with Paypal. Form letter received is below. Was told Paypal required this for reimbursement. I have no CC on file with Paypal. Filed claim with Paypal and sent copy of Paypal claim to Vitacost. No response. Vitacost appears to have settled on the very last day of the claim turnaround time with Paypal. Took six weeks to get reimbursed. Paypal was prompt, not their fault. Vitacost held this amount in their coffers for a month and a half. Collectively, for many 'small' transactions...if a bank did this? What would the long term collective benefits be? ----------------------- Dear Customer; In order to resolve the pending charge on your PayPal account, I will need you to provide the credit card information you have on file with PayPal that was used to purchase your items with Vitacost. This information is required by PayPal to have ANY pending charges removed from any customerís account. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Thank you in advance for your patience in regard to this matter, and we look forward to serving you in the future for your vitamin and supplement needs.
Thank you for shopping Vitacost and have a great day!
