I just recently placed an order online from Safeway and one of the item is back order but when I called the store at the same time that made the delivery they told me the item is in stock on the shelf. They also never explained one of the item I ordered was going to take 6-8 weeks but they have already charged me for it.

I order groceries online from Safeway for my elderly mother (2,000 miles away) and I would recommend this for anyone in a similar situation. We review her choices online, I place the order, and everything after that has been very smooth. The delivery person has been helpful and pleasant (with no tips allowed), the order has been accurate (though things are sometimes out of stock), and the prices are reasonable (with Safeway-card specials honored). It's a lifesaver!

I have ordered from Safeway.com for my groceries at least 3 times and my experience have been great. They have gotten my orders right but the only complaint is the produce. They are not picked as carefully as you would yourself if you bought them at the store. Since I hate standing in line and unloading the groceries, this is much more convenient.
