Sorry Cpotatoes, the best deal out there is if you have a Hollywood Video in your area get their MVP service for 14.99/mo and you can take out up to 3 movies at a time for 5 days, which includes all but the most recent releases (however, they issue rain-checks on some of the out-of-stock NR's). If you live in a metro area where Hollywood Video is nearby, they have the best deal going. Why wait for the mail, when you can just drive to the store and exchange your videos?

Just wanted to update on how fast NetFlix can receive movies when I mailed them back. I cancelled my account on June 19th, droppped the movies in the mail after dinner that night and had a message in my ibox by 6:37AM the next day they received them. So the return time went from 5-6 days when we wanted to watch movies to 12 hours when we cancelled, yet they still claimed it was the USPS's fault.

luv NetFlix, get six movies a week, key is to watch them as soon as you get them, also it helps if you live near a processing center, ours is like an hour away so we get them next day. we had them over a year and went to blockbuster for a while and was not impressed, we went back to NetFlix and i think we will stay!

I have been a member for almost a year. Liked the service, but lately they have started to stall all of my movies. I am on a temp layoff, so I figured I could catch a few movies, but I used to drop them in the mail Sunday night and have a new one Wed., drop them Thurday and turnaround would be Saturday. Now, it is 1 week between sending and receiving. When I first complained it ceased for 2 weeks, and they gave me 2 bonus movies. I only received 1, when I submitted for the second one it just disappeared, no evidence it even existed. CS is close to non existent. I received a reply from my first email, and none from the last 3. I plan on calling in, so I can get a name to file a complaint with the BBB and my State Consumer Affairs Division. I plan on posting on all of the forums I am on, and on Consumer websites. False advertising at its best. 3 at a time unlimited, and they try and impress with fast turnaround, until you actually start watching a lot. My viewing will die off when the weather clears and I start building my deck, then I'll cancel and try Blockbuster. I have kept movies for 3 weeks, but they don't care, they have stalled my account. 3 thumbs down.

I'm having pretty good luck with my Netfix service.

I return all 3 DVD in a single return envelopes on Monday, but NetFlix only show 2 have returned on Tuesday. I know they got all 3 at the same time. And I hate they sent a DVD that took more than 3 days and plus 1 day waiting for searching it in other location, even when the availabitity show now. Why can't they just ship the next one on my queue, if they have it in the local center that won't take more than a day to my home. and no customer service

When I was on the 3 at-a-time option, my deliveries were excellent, usually "overnight" (send one back on Monday, get the new one on Wednesday).

Now that I've changed to 4 at-a-time (and being a retired person) I have been turning them around pretty quickly. My deliveries have now slowed way down. A disk they claim to have mailed on Thursday for Friday delivery (their estimate) arrives on the next Tuesday or wednesday. It seems apparent that I have fallen into the stall group.

This is a sleazy tactic and should be widely publicized by those who are affected. I certainly intend to do this.

Totally agree with phatso888. I'm having the exact problems with NetFlix as he/she did. I'll deflinitely cancel the membership for the next month and will never ever recommend it others again as I did in the first month of my membership when the delievery was pretty good (I'm only in the second month now). So what they have a larger selection? Their tricks are so cheap!!

NetFlix seriously sucks! I watched on average 6 DVDs each week, for the 3-out-a time program, in the first month. 2nd month onwards, delivery was intentionally delayed. Distribution/return center is only half an hour away from where I stay. In the first month, movies were received within a day, max 2 days, and movies were sent the very next day.
2nd month, movies eg. sent in on Tuesday, NetFlix on checked them in the following Monday. Then would only schedule the next movies in queue to be shipped on Wednesday, 2 days later. During the 2nd and 3rd month, NetFlix kept doing the same thing, checked in returned movies on average 5 days later and delaying the next movies in queue for an average of 1-3 days.
I paid extra to ship some dvds back during the 2nd and 3rd month. All of them arrived the very next day. Hence I can conclude: NetFlix only lets you watch whatever your program is each week!!!!!
They even tried to charge me full retail price for dvds that were already returned and received the very next day. Only when I presented them with delivery confirmations then did they bothered to check the dvds, that already arrived at the center a week ago. Virtually no customer service at all. Very uncooperative and unresponsive.
