how can you make a mistake like losing 2 sets of keys and then you are the one that made the mistake. And all of the associated issues were all because of your mistake so why is Avis at fault here? You left them with a car that was not in the same condition as it was when you got it. Bad reason to put such a low rating.

Avis is horrible company. I had a issue with my trip to Las vegas. The morning I was to leave I could not find the keys to the rental car. I called the local Avis counter at the airport where I picked up the car and they were of no help. Told me to call a locksmith to open the doors/trunk. Since these morons give you two sets of keys that you can not separate and they do not keep a set for any issues, you are screwed if something like this happens. I called a local locksmith ($85) and no keys in car. Had to leave to catch a flight and called them back to inform them of my situation. Told them I would contact the hotel desk and have the keys sent to them if found. That same day Avis put a charge of $327 on my credit card for new keys, a tow and gas at over 8 dollars a gallon. Since I could not drive the car(locksmith keys do no start the engine,only open doors/trunk)I could not top off the tank. I was not informed of any of these charges and when I called the cust service number to explain what had happened and to notify them that the hotel found the keys, they did not care or willing to work with me on this. I will NEVER use Avis again and plan on disputing these charges with my CC company.
