JC Penney is great. They have an awesome selection of Tall-sized men's apparel. In addition their return policy is outstanding. Several times I've ordered clothing on-line then returned to the local store with no questions asked. I'm always comfortable shopping with them.

JcPenney is great. You can order online, and return at the store. Never had any problems. I never had the credit card, but I usually don't use store ones, not worth the extra 10 percent off.

JC Penney has frequent issues with catalog items not being available and rather limited stock online. Many times I have gotten their catalogs only to find things unavailable 1-2 days after the catalog arrived in my mail. Maddeningly, if you go to another catalog number (higher priced) you may find that exact item - @ that higher price. It may preserve their profit margins but is sure makes previously loyal customers like myself mad.

I feel for you on the credit card thing. I got talked into their card (trying to save 10%) and I payed off my item the same day. With cash! When I wanted to cancel my card the entire balance was still on my card! I didn't keep my receipt and it was a huge headache. I finally had my husband call the manager of the store. (for some reason it seems like men's deep voices have more authority) So, they looked up the purchases with my amount through each register. Come to find out, the girl had made my credit card payment onto the customer who had been before me. It took me a month and 7 long distance phone calls. The manager ended up sending me a 30 dollar gift certificate. When he asked me straight up what I wanted to make me feel better I felt really dumb, so I didn't ask for much. In your situation you could ask for tons more - gift certificates and coupons. (not to mention a replacement) I also emailed their main corporate office...try that. Good luck sister! We're all in this together...

I've ordered from www.jcpenny.com multiple times. My orders have arrived in a reasonable amount of time with all items in excellent condition. I do get frustrated during check-out often though due to items in my cart suddenly becoming "unavailable" when I commit to buy. I cannot comment on their customer service because I've never had to contact them.

I WILL NEVER EVER ORDER FROM JCPenney AGAIN (or shop there)! I would absolutely recommend to **never** have anything shipped from JCPenney much less shop there. I am still undergoing a two-month JCPenney FIASCO (to say the least). Not only did they overcharge my credit card by over $1000.00, the items came late and they came totally soiled and dirty (mattresses). It looked like someone spilled cherry kool-aid on the mattresses. It is pretty disgusting. Their delivery company is horrible. They are unorganized to say the least - They have no-showed to 4 different appointments to re-deliver the new items. We called to followup after they would no-show deliveries and they would say "there is no way that was us that called, sorry" however, we have caller ID with the date, time and phone number they called from. On December 27th the delivery company finally showed up with the "new" items but they were even more soiled than the first shipment Needless to say, we still have these dirty mattresses stored in our house.
Dealing with their customer support is horrible. My husband and I have emailed them continuously and called them constantly. I have had at least 11 different charges and credits on my credit card from JCPenney, and NO ONE can seem to explain them. They all inform they will have to "call back" when they figure out the charges and no one follows up.
It has seriously been the worst experience I have ever had shopping online - and I shop online FREQUENTLY. I have been paying interest on the extra mysterious money they have had charged on my credit card every month. TWO THUMBS DOWN ON JCPenney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ordering from Penney's could not be easier and I received the order quickly. If you have a catalog it does make it easier to order than surfing on the site to find what you want.

I bought some jeans from JCP because they were on sale. Their name scheme and Levis website name scheme didn't match which left a lot of guess work for me just to buy a stupid pair of pants. :/

Their descriptions didn't help much either, but I need more than a one liner to get me through a purchase, more so (like in this case) when it is a product (or line) with which I am unfamiliar.

I ended up buying these jeans a couple sizes to long, but I'm too apathetic about my jeans appearance to care. They cover my skivvies so I kept 'em.
