DESKTOP COMPUTER BUYERS BEWARE! I purchased a computer from uBid. It took me 8 months to finally get around to setting it up in my home office due to a move. When I finally set it up I received a 60 day free Norton Antivirus trial. The computer didn't even last through the 60 days before it crapped out. I had purchased an additional 2 year warranty. After calling their help line I was transferred to another company. They said they couldn't help and I'd have to mail it back. $100+ in shipping costs and I was told "well what do you expect? You paid less then $100 for the warranty." Unbelievable! So I have to ship it back, was informed 24-48 hours to email me a special shipping label...5 days later and 3 phone calls later still no shipping label. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! GO TO BEST BUY, SPEND THE EXTRA $200 and GET THEIR BLACK TIE WARRANTY. I tried to save some money on a desktop & now I have nothing but regrets of uBid.

Buyer beware!! I Ordered a Camcorder from uBid recently as a Christmas gift for my wife as she is expecting. I have ordered in the past from uBid a few other times without issue and had thought really highly of the company. That thought is no more. They listed the item as "Demo" The item contained a broken LCD, missing battery along with missing the battery cover. Some great deal. As to uBidís customer service? I was berated with such exclamations what did you expect for the price? Or, demo means that it is missing a few items. According to their description of "Demo" There is nothing of the sort stating that the item could be missing items as a matter of fact here is their description "These products have never been owned by anyone, they're just used for testing to ensure they function according to exact manufacturer specifications. Don't pass up great deals on these gently used products!" Does the fact that the item was missing the battery, battery door, warranty card, and had a broken LCD match the description of a "Demo" item? Bottom line; beware of any goods for sale on uBid, as they do not stand behind any of their ratings.

Easy browsing at their site. But... beware, they're selling lots of refurbished products. I bought a Motorola charger. They have this in multiple listing with Buy now price and bidding. All have same description indicating it's a charger from Motorla (OEM type) with Motorola logo. Guess what I got? A regular non-OEM made by unknown company worthing less than their $10 shipped. I could've got this non-OEM for $5 from eBay. I paid $10 expecting a genunie Motorola car charger. The one I got does work but it is NOT what the advertising. It isn't worth sending it back. The auction is from their own store. Very disappointing.

Horrible! Do NOT buy from these hacks no matter what the price. Read their fine print, if it says "refurbished" and "very nice condition" that may translate to very, very, very poor condition, unusable and the product is one its last legs about ready to break.
Here are the bullet points from my experience: Late shipping, did not send me everything I ordered, product was totally scratched up (described as "very nice condition"), and service reps were rude.
I needed a cellphone. I found a good price on one at uBid, it was described as a "very nice refurbished" Blackberry with a charged & usb cable.
I needed ASAP, so I paid the extra $30 for overnight delivery. I ordered it Monday morning.
On Thursday, 4 DAYS later, this horrible experience started to unfold. The packaging was pathetic, someone threw it into a USPS overnight envelope. They forgot to include the USB cable, thus, they did not send everything I bought. Then, I inspected the Blackberry, this thing looked like someone climbed Everest with it, deep scratches on the screen & gouges on the body of the phone. Seriously, this phone looked like someone used it very hard for about 2 years. It was far from "very nice condition." Scratches on the screen??? How could anyone in their right mind claim this was in "very nice condition?"
I called customer service on Thursday, and was told they would contact the seller to get me a replacement phone that was as advertised. I was told I could expect an e-mail from uBid. Monday morning, no e-mail, so I called uBid.
When I called uBid acted as if I had nothing to complain about. I told the rep the phone was not in "very nice condition" and the description was dead wrong. The rep then told me the phone was listed as "used," and proceeded to read to me what "used" means under the uBid contract. Essentially, "used" means the product has minor bumps and scratches. I told the rep the phone has scratches on the SCREEN making it unusable, this is a major scratch. Then I said the phone was late in shipping, it came after I needed it, the phone came incomplete, and it is a piece of junk. She didn't care. The gist of what she said was I bought it used (nevermind it was listed as "very nice condition"), all bets are off, caveat emptor sucker!
Finally, I said "I want my money back." The rep's reply is that I have to pay a 15% re-stocking fee. So, I'm out $30 for "overnight" shipping, $30 re-stocking fee, I'm mad because they did a bait & switch and used fine print to stick it to me, and I still don't have a phone.
I'm not going to fight them, I rather spend time with friends & family, but I do want you, the potential uBid customer to know these guys are horrible. Please, learn from my mistake: Do NOT do business with uBid.

UBID has revamped and is now better than ever. Great selection and great prices. I have ordered many items from UBID ranging from digital cameras, to toys, and they all have been delivered on time, with the correct items. UBID is great!

I have bought two Sony Vaios through UBID and have always been extremely satisfied with my purchases. Each at about half the price I could have bought them for anywhere else.

Do not bid on this sucker. Won a item at 1/4 of the retail price, they didn't honor it stating this item is out of stock. A day later, they put up another auction for the same exact product. What a rip off

Bought a MD player a while ago that was supposed to have the USB connection to allow music download from a PC. It was stated in the auction and shown in the picture. I didn't get the connector because I received the wrong version and spent well over a month trying to straighten it out. I received bogus email addresses to contact and had to start from scratch numerous times because UBID would "lose" my previous correspondence. They finally wore me down and I stopped emailing. I did report them to the BBB though. If I would have realized they were so close I would have driven over and had a few words...beware of UBID!!!

All products on this site are out-of-date stuff (computers, monitors, etc) Their price is actually higher than other similar on-line stores, even with bidding products, they usually have reserved price (though they state they don't). You would find brand-new(not refurbished) from other retailers with the same price and even better models. You don't have any flexibility here. When something goes wrong, it is a big hassle to deal with their customer service. (The chance is very high, unless you can tolerate the defects). It wasted time and energy, and saved nothing! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
