I believe, SONIC BLUE has best support for its products. It might have happened with you, but i consider this an exception.
Sonic Blue is the Best and RIO is the best of the range, Nomad & I pod do not stand before it.

My Rio stopped working in less than 1 month of use. I couldn't return it to CompUSA since it was longer than 14 days, so I RMA'd it with sonicblue - they ingored my emails, and I finally had to call their customer service line long distance. It took 2 months to get it back. It stopped working after about 2 months this time, and I emailed their customer support line several times with no response. Again I had to call long distance. I returned it 6 months ago and still have not gotten it back. They of course didn't reply to my emails so I had to call them again, and they told me that they have no units to ship out and didn't know when/if they would get more.

Buy a nomad instead.

DO not blue from sonicblue. I repeat DO NOT buy from them. Their customer service is practically inaccessible. Their departments are SO widely divided that if you decide to cancel an order you'll have to work EXTREMELY hard to find an email addy/person there to cancel out. I ordered a product accidentally from the site thinking it was something else. There was no option to cancel it, but a CS email was available which I used to email requesting a cancellation with all my order info,etc. I waited 2 days......no response back except automated. I tried calling CS to confirm and waited 20-30 minutes........got fed up, hung up and thought that things would have been taken care of. 3 weeks later i got an email from customerservice@sonicblue.com saying that my email was sent to the WRONG email addy????????? THAT was the ONLY email addy listed on that SITE!!!!!

I decided to call CS and hold out. I called first thing in the morning when the lines opened up. and I had to wait 40 freakin minutes. I explained to the CS my problems and they said someone will contact me. guess what......no one did. When my package finally arrived (3 weeks after order date WHEN IN STOCK), i refused the package.

Guess what? I finally get aphone call telling me that I refused the package. WHAT GREAT FREAKIN customer service. For ALL of their troubles they DON"T give me back the shipping charges but just the item charge. HELL WITH THEM. THEY WILL GO OUT OF BUSINESS. DON"T EVER BUY FROM THESE GUYS. A COMPANY DOESN"T GET MORE GHETTO THAN SONICBLUE.
