I ordered 2 magazine back in Decemeber of 2008.My credit card was charged and I thought I was on my way to receiving 2 new subscriptions.

Never got the magazines, so after waiting the required 14 weeks, sometime in April of 2009 I emailed the customer service email address. After about a week or so, someone contacted me back...it appeared that Best Deal magazine had no records of my credit card being charged, nor did they have record of my order. After giving them some required information, they were finally able to find my credit card charge somewhere in their system. It was not until June of 2009 that i finally received my first magazine (6 months later). It's not September, and back in August, about 2 weeks ago, I emailed BDM AGAIN because I STILL have not received the second magazine. a week later (last week) i got an snwer back from Customer Service saying that she had put in a inquirery with the clearing house of the second magazine, thought it may take 2 weeks to hear back. ON friday of last week, I replied that that wsa unacceptable and that I wanted to speak to a manager by Wednesday (this week) and get my money back. Never heard back

Again yesterday, i sent an email stating that I was going to let the BBB know of this situation. Of course I heard right back. This time, the manager has been out of town and that she would contact me when she returned.

Today I received a message on my phone that low and behold! I would be receiving my FIRST issue of the magazine by the middle of Spetember for the October issue.

That's TEN MONTHS between the time I was charged and the time I'll be (hopefully)receiving my subscription.

BDM will not be getting any further of my business. The first time in April, I was undertanding of the issue (though I still don't know how they had no record of my charge or order). This time, not so understanding.

Seller is legit. I took advantage of a Consumer Reports Deal of Day offer. Their website is laid out a little strange. If I searched for the deal item I would not get the Deal of Day price. Once I realized that I went back to the home page and ordered through their link.

Cons: Took 3 months before 1st issue arrived (they did warn the industry AVG is 8-14 wks.)

Also did not get my CashBack until I filed an investigation with fatwallet which was quickly credited by fw once I emailed them a copy of the receipt.

I used to use BestDealMagazines for all my magazine orders. But my recent experiences have been quite poor. I'm going to find a new magazine retailer. Their customer service is horrible. A note about gift cards: The web site says they only let you use one gift card per order. What they don't tell you is that you have to use a gift card all at once. So if you have a $20 gift card, but only want to order $8 worth of magazines, you'll be out the other $12.

Orders are hit or miss. Either you get them or don't. Don't rely on this company. In fact, save yourself the stress and don't order from them. The customer service does not exist. If I didn't get 1 of the 4 subscriptions I signed up for OVER 6 MONTHS AGO, I'd say it was a scam. Oh wait, it is a scam. They tell me to wait so long to be sure the subscriptions won't come, I can no longer dispute the credit card charge. NEVER ORDER FROM THEM.

Still waiting for a subscription to THE Week ordered 12/22/04.

Emailed a week ago, after waiting over 4 months for a weekly magazine I saw here on FW. I still have not gotten a response, so much for BestDealMagazines.com FAQ's solution:

The clearinghouse does not consider the order to be late until 14 weeks has passed. If this amount of time has passed and you have not received your first issue, please let me know so I can have the clearinghouse look into your order. TO DO THIS, PLEASE SEND A COPY OF THIS MESSAGE WHICH MUST INCLUDE YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS, THE APPROXIMATE DATE OF YOUR ORDER OR THE CONFIRMATION E-MAIL WE SENT YOU AND THE TITLE OF THE MAGAZINE(S) INVOLVED TO:

Emailed and followed the instructions to the letter, both times....no reply. The phone number listed is NOT for "customer service" there is no phone number for customer service only email, and is only ph # is a voicemail line....

I have used BestDealMagazines many times and I have always received every magazine I ordered. They submit the orders to the publishers and most of the delays people complain about occur on the publishers level.

The company is asking consumers to give them a chance to fix any problems before filing desputes with credit card companies that is where the threat to "Sue" comes from.

Oh my God it looks like this company sues it's customers for $50 million bucks! Look at this link from one of the threads on the deals board:

IMHO, that is some pretty interesting and enlightening reading. What a scary company.

My experience with BestDealMagazine has been mixed but overall good. I've ordered several magazines from them (a few for work and couple personal) and all were received in a timely manner, except one. I had ordered (actually renewed) my PC Gamer subscription with BDM back in November of 2002, but then in the middle of March (after I was starting to worry about my subscription) I received a notice from BDM saying they "inadvertently submitted my renewal to the wrong publisher" and that they had resubmitted it as of March 10th. According to the notice it would be another 6 - 18 weeks before I received my magazines!

Well, I emailed customer service (without much hope) stating that my subscription had run out and the cost of purchasing the cover price from the newstand of the issues I was missing was totally off-setting the "discount" I got from BDM, and I asked if they would at least give me a complimentary subscription to one of their "free" magazines without charging me the $3.95 processing. To my surprise they said no problem and gave me a free subscription to Popular Science (I haven't recevied this one yet though).

Just yesterday (May 15th) I finally received my PC Gamer and again to my surprise BDM had upgraded my subscription to the CD version! To me that was a nice gesture and something I didn't ask for, even though I don't really care to get the Demo CD since I do have broadband, it was a good customer service expression. I will actually continue to make purchases with BDM because of it.
