Luiglock your area's managers must have talked to each other and decided that they weren't selling anything without the plan. My store has NEVER told a customer they couldn't have a product because they wouldn't get the service plan.
I almost would guess that you were fibbing there.

Staples took my BF order and claimed it would be delivered on Wed. Even though I had been refreshing my browser until the deal went active at 6AM, they called two days later and said that the item was out of stock and I would not get it. The gave me an order confirmation, let all the BF deals go by while they had a hold on my credit card, and then canceled the deal two days later. This was supposed to be a wedding gift for my brother. I will never buy from the store again.

Make the call and check it out or email for answers:

Staples Rewards and the HP "exclusion" mlmerriam is right. Do you want to know why? The 10% back on ink applies to ALL ink cartridges, but due to HP's relationship with Staples, the only people authorized to make any advertisements, promotions, etc involving HP products is--you guessed it. HP. Ever visit a website where it states "click here to see the sale price"? That's right. Marketing restrictions.
Th price match policy: Okay people, listen up, because this is it: When Staples price matches anything, they take into consideration: Staples: Cost, shipping cost if any, instant savings, easy rebates and mail in (manufacturer) rebates -versus- THE COMPETITOR: Cost, shipping cost for getting the product to you in the SAME timeframe as Staples does, instant savings, are they authorized by the manufacturer to resell the product? (Do they get the stock direct from HP or buy tons from Circuit City and resell it at a lower rate?)
You will NEVER find any price matching company that will include the competitor's rebates/mail in rebates and that's why their policy has changed to match it.
Also, if you plan on calling the below telephone # to voice your complaints, enjoy that $5000 phone bill. Area code 508 is in Sascatchewan, Canada.
