Poor web site. Unable to send product as a present to others. Unexceptionable delays and very poor customer service. Buy local if you can DO NOT mail order or use web site.

I have had the same problems too, and not in one location, but in FOUR states, and SIX or SEVEN addresses!
I would place an order and wait for a delivery that never came, then log back on to check the order and delivery date only to find the order cancelled with no notice.
I finally contacted the better business bureau. That worked like a charm! I got a free tub of ice cream and a $25 gift certificate as well as a delivery driver that actually stops every 2-4 weeks depending on my preference.
I would definitely consider the BBB approach if you're having that much trouble, if enough people complain something might actually change

WE HAVE TRIED USING THEM FOR YEARS, BUT IT USUALLY ENDS UP BEING MORE TROUBLE THAN IT IS WORTH! We used to live about 3 blocks from the local distrobution center and started out with a decent driver. Although we averaged about $30 a week, it was mostly juices and ice cream (as they do have the best ice cream!) and not a lot of their meat items. They were just too expensive for us at the time. then they changed drivers and the driver started skipping us. He would stop at houses on our block, but would not stop at our house! We finally called and he stopped again. He said we did not guy enough to make it worth his time stopping! Too much trouble I guess since we were a whole 3 blocks away from his depot! We told him not to bother coming anymore.
Well, we have since moved and recently had a route rep stop by and try to get us to buy from them again. We placed an order that day, and the route rep did come by the next week and we ordered more. The regular driver has not shown up in the last month since then.
I guess it is business as usual at Schwan's.

I am afraid my experience is similae to hymiler. While the food quality is very good, Schwan's service is spotty at best. Our driver kept changing, NEVER came at the promised time and if an item was out of stock, NEVER offered a substitute or free item. We were placing orders over $200 a month (they only deliver monthly in our area). We stopped ordering and called Schwan's customer service twice for assistance. Both times, all they would do it forward our message to the driver (that was a big help) and NEVER offered us a thing to make up for the trouble. We stopped ordering a year ago and they also have never called to ask why. Good food, very poor customer service and delivery.

I was pleasantly surprised and delighted with Schwans. From the ease of navigating their website and placing my order, to the friendliness of the driver (not only did he deliver early on Xmas Eve, he called and gave me a 10 minute heads up so I could stumble from bed and make coffee before he arrived!), my first experience with them has been great.
My DH has loved both Schwans meals I have prepared, and so far everything about this experience has been above average. I didn't care for the potatoes that came with the sliced beef and gravy (they tasted instant), but he loved them - go figure.
I'll definitely order from them again just as soon as I find another coupon or hot deal on FatWallet or I decide the convenience of ordering Schwans merits their slightly higher than Kroger's prices.

I have ordered quite a few times from Schwans. The FIRST delivery guy we had was quite rude, but the guy we have now is much nicer. When an item is out of stock he will give you something for free! Today I recieved a FREE Sweet and Sour Chicken
The prices are a little higher than normal, but the quality is great. I haven't tried their meat products yet, but their icecream is to die for!
Why not start out with a small order, use a code (found here on FW) and see for yourself. Each person I have spoken to about Schwans have differing views. Perhaps I will read yours here soon

My first order was delivered a day late and I was charged for the free promotional meal. That should have been a hint of things to come. Things went down from there. None of the orders I placed since then have arrived. The driver never shows up at the agreed time. He either skips my house altogether or shows up real early while we are still at work so he always "misses" us. Big surprise. All complains to Schwans headquarters are forwarded to the local sales manager who never contacts you so problems don't get resolved. The food is very good; too bad I can't get any delivered.
