I own a Ford. I was very excited about getting a new one. I went through the Ford Direct website and I ended up having a local dealer contact me. He gave me a price, including my trade in. He gave my husband the same price during a separate conversation. I decided to do the deal. The day that I was to get the car, the dealer (in York, Maine), stated that he was "misstated the bottom line" and that my bottom line was three thousand more. He did not give me the promised and customary $3000.00 dealer rebate and instead applied it toward my trade in, making it look as though I was getting 3K more for the trade. However, the bottom line was still an outright bait and switch. I called Ford Customer service and they told me that they just match cars we build with local dealers and that they cannot get involved with any problems since the dealers are franchisees. In other words, they set up the transaction, introduced me to the dealer, had the dealer quote me, and when I got victimized by their dealer, they turned their back. I am now looking for anything BUT a Ford.
