Bought from them three times, used coupon all three times for 1 dollar off which was honored. First & second books arrived quickly, third book arrived slower then I expected but still quick.

I just filed a complaint with the FTC, stating that Alibris charges for expedited shipping when there is no such service.

DO NOT PAY for EXPEDITED SHIPPING. Many of the 3rd party sellers (A1Books for example) does not have any such service for expedited shipping. all orders are treated the same, yet you pay extra if you ask for expedited shipping. Sounds like fraud to me. I thought I had a bad experience with indoo.com, but its really Alibris that is a rip off.

How could a company like this stay in business? My text book should have arrived a month ago. I paid expidited shipping for nothing. Fatwallet should pull Alibris off the site and deal with more reputable comapnies. Buyer beware. If you are going to give your money away, give it to the Red Cross instead.

I ordered to get the 5.5% Cash Back. BIG MISTAKE. It's not worth the trouble. I got 2 books immediately (paid $20 for expedited shipping). Its been 2.5 weeks and I haven't got my 3rd book. No way of contacting Alibris via phone (its just an automated thing). They don't respond to email. I also tried contacting the seller (indoo.com) directly, and they didn't respond. I missed my first 2 homework assignments because I depended on them.

The worst online company in America. First they have no way of telling if an item has shipped or not and then the refund is less than my purchase.
While their prices may seem like great value, it's a false promise. Watch it and be careful with is company.

Terrible customer service. I ordered a book I needed for a class almost 2 weeks before I needed it. They said the shipping would take 7-14 days. I waited...and waited. After 25 days of waiting, I contacted "Customer Service" via e-mail. They responded, asking me to wait another five days. I did so and when I still did not receive my order, I proceeded to call the ONLY number I could find on the website, which was an automated service. Through this I found an option where I could leave a voicemail. Days later..no response. I wrote them another e-mail today, 44 days after ordering it. How can you simply NOT give a customer their order?!

Provides the service it claims to & does it well! One major caveat however: don't expect to get any fat cash from these guys even though they claim to return 5.5%

Decent site for buyers if one knows the exact book they are interested in and want a nice-looking website instead of a functional one. Horrible site for sellers- the absolute worst search functions of any major book selling site online. The customer service is non existent, returns are problematic and can take months to resolve, sellers frequently cancel orders and even if they cancel immediately, the charge will stay on your credit card for up to 3 months. Alibris exists to make money and for no other reason. Not even sure how they continue to exist.
