The worst shipping I have ever experienced! My ipod shipped from PA to NJ in one day and has been laying at a post office in NJ for a week now and it still has not been delivered to me. Apple says that I can expect it by Monday. I ordered it and it shipped on 7/18 so I don't feel that a delivery date of 7/27 is acceptable expecially since it only had to travel a distance of 4 hours.

BAD Customer Service: I sent in my ipod for repair OR replacement. Before I did, I spoke to a customer service rep and expressed my concern about getting a refurbished product back. I was assured that though it was chance, I would get a call before a replacement is sent to me (if my unit couldn't be repaired). No calls, and just received a refurbished unit. I find out from a supervisor that I had no chance of NOT getting a refurbished item and they don't call before shipping. They don't even try to repair your unit. To them repair=replacement. GREAT! Now i'm stuck with a refurbished item I don't want and Apple doesn't care that they mislead and mis-informed their customer.

They are great when you want to purchase something. However, when they make a mistake they have no problem charging you a 10% fee to correct it.

I bought a Nano at the Apple Store so I could get the personal engraving on it. I chose the free shipping. Email said it would take 5 to 8 days to deliver. they engraved it and it shipped from China to Arizona in 1 day. I definately recommend their store.

I bought a new 24" imac at an Apple Store location. The wait for a salesperson was minimal, and before I said that I was going to buy he took as much time as I wanted showing me all the new aspects of this mac. I've been a mac user as a graphic designer since the beginning of computers, but OSX is still a learning experience. I placed my order, the mac was in stock and I walked away with it that afternoon. The salesperson was very informative about all of the other services mac had to offer and I took advantage of a couple of them. I was also really pleased to get a $100 rebate (when I bought my mac) on a very cool Canon printer, scanner, copier. I am a very happy mac customer!

Bought a new 20" IMac. Great shopping experince. The only hitch was after placing the order hey infomred me that it woudl take over 2 weeks for delivery, and never responded to my emails. They however beat my expectations and had th product on my door step within a week. Love the product!

Except in an emergency or for a trivial item, an Apple Store wouldn't be the first place I'd shop. For starters, they have only a 10-day return period, compared to the typical month at retailers. The help is often arrogant and not well trained. The prices are not competitive. I would consider buying a Mac there, but not much else. Now that HP is marketing iPods, they will apparently be sold in Costco stores, which, at the very least, increases the return period to 6 months, and perhaps much longer. And the prices should be cheaper. Apple has always charged high prices, which is why it has squelched market competition, such as with Mac clones. The company is as anti-competitive as it gets.
