I ordered a item came to me defective, had very hard time contacting this company,40+ days later recevied new item in the mail still defective(they said they have no way of testing electronic items. So I am stuck with a defective item and they took my money.Sound like a good company hey!! Don't buy from this company unless you want to just give your money away.I did report to my crdit card company. How they do this to people.Fat wallet should boot them off unless they own the site. Good luck if they took your money

I placed an order for an item at their website and got an acknowledgment. After placing the order, I waited for about 9 days and sent an email asking them the order status. The next day I received a mail from them that the order was canceled!! The reason that they gave that the item was out of stock.

What annoyed me was that first of all they did not bother to communicate that the item was not in stock within next couple of days. They only responded when I asked them the order status! I asked them to backorder the item but there was no communication from them.

What they could have done is, order the out of stock items from their vendors and fill the orders that they had accepted! I don't think that they would suffer a huge loss by doing this, instead it would increase their reputation.

Overall, this business is highly irresponsible and do not care for their customers. They have worst inventory management I've seen across online stores. They also don't take returns of the items either. So think before you leap. For a few more dollars you can buy same item from another store that is more reputable, cares for the customers, and take returns for items.

Please do not buy from this store unless it is okay with you that they cancel your order any time and don't communicate with you!!

I ordered a Logitech Cordless X-Box Controller from these guys per the "hot deal" that was recently posted here and elsewhere. My controller that was sold as new arrived yesterday - it is mostly definitely not new, as it came loose, in a brown shipping box, with the serial number Sharpied out. At best this is a refurb, but my guess is that it's something shadier (I'm pretty sure Logitech doesn't cross out the serial numbers for a refurb). In any case the product was seriously misrepresented, and because the box was not included I am not eligible for the $10 rebate I expected to be. Only after making the purchase have I found all the negative reports on these guys. I certainly wouldn't deal with them again, not on a dare, and I emailed Logitech to let them know how this company is operating. Stay away.

***STAY AWAY*** from Surplus Computers. If you don't believe me, look at their BBB record. which as of the time of this writing had 21 unresolved complaints! Need more info? Keep reading.

I've been ordering through direct mail sales since 5mhz XT days, and I have never had as bad experience as I did with Surplus Computers. I ordered on August 21, and it took them *over 9 weeks* to get all the parts together for me to assemble a "barebones." Many of the main components were apparently used, though the system was billed as new.

Ordered a barebones computer that showed up within a week. Everything looked good, until the ECS mobo would not install XP correctly. I called tech support, they said to send it in. It took roughly a week, and when I called to check they were sending the same one back but had not checked for the specific problem.

I asked if I could just swap it out, and Nancy in the RMA department offered a comparable mobo (Jetway). I get the ECS mobo back with the CPU attached (as I had sent it) an immediately send it back as I received it. I email them twice over a period of a week and a half to let them know I included the CPU, but never receive a response. Another week goes by, and I had to call to get them to ship out the jetway mobo.

Of course, they did not include the CPU on it. I call and they say they'll ship it out "expediated." When I finally receive it over a week later, it was only shipped UPS Ground.

And it does not include the fan. I call again, setting everything aside for the hopeful day when I can assemble it (now having defeated the entire purpose of a barebones system).

I receive the fan, this time truly expediated, and sit down to assemble everything. The CPU is not only used with thermal grease on it, but it also has bent pins. The mobo CPU locking lever is broken in half on the mobo, and the mobo is not comparable at all the ECS as it does not support the same memory. I tried to call twice, and they never returned my calls.

Needless to say, I disputed this with my credit card.

Seems like Surplus Computers would be a great place to buy from if you never have to return anything. Judging by my experience, I bet you will.

I originally ordewred a mobo/cpu combo from these clowns and not only did it take 3 or 4 weeks to get here, but the mobo went out in a week! I finally got a response after 5 phone calls & many emails to rma the bad mobo. After about three more weeks they sent me a replacement motherboard that I got rid of on eBay and bought a new one locally. I will never do business with thesae guys ever again!

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! I ordered a MB from them. They sent it with no driver software for the video or audio on board. It also was defective. It is like pulling teeth to get an RMA # and IF you finally get one, good luck getting a refund or exchange. They try not to talk to anyone on the phone. I hate a company that hides behind an email only policy for tech support or RMA. The only time you can get a live person is if you call to order something. I have sent them numerous emails and left many request for them to call me back. I finally got ahold of someone and he wanted to know how I got his number because all stuff is to be handled by email. I still haven't gotten a status of the RMA. He did email me back to say he could not find it. I sent it with a delivry confirmation luckily! The San Jose, Ca area Better Business Bureau has this listed: BBB Page I reccommed that you STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!
