BabyUniverse calculated the sales tax on my order incorrectly and overcharged me. I have contacted their customer support 3 times, and they refuse to fix the problem. Beware!

I purchased three Britax Marathon carseats, two as gifts and one for myself. With an online coupon, I purchased each for $199 with free standard shipping. I received e-mails confirming my orders were placed and confirming that my orders shipped with the tracking numbers. Each car seat arrived within three days to their respective destination in Pennslyvannia, Michigan, and Illinois. I will definitely buy from them again.

I ordered a car seat for my daughter for $269.99. I placed my order and my credit card was charged on May 10th. The seat was supposed to ship on June 1st. On May 23rd I get an e-mail confirming the ship date of 6/1/07. On 6/1/07 I get an e-mail saying the shipping will be delayed as the seat is back ordered. Now when I check the site the availability date keeps getting pushed back. I will never buy from them again. They knew the seat wouldn't ship until the end of June/beginning of July but they tell you it will ship sooner so you'll order from them.

I purchased a Fisher-Price baby papasan swing. A few days later, I received an email stating the swing was on back order and I would receive it in 6 weeks. About a week after that, I received another email stating the swing had a pricing error and my order was effectively cancelled.

i am on a Mac and have many problems viewing and using this web site.

I ordered a Rockstar Baby stroller ($499) on thanksgiving. I used a 20% off coupon but not FatCash ( because I never used it before until recently). Long story short, I still have not recieved it. 12-23-06.
They charged my card the same day I ordered, the next day they requested that I call and confirm my shipping address( I actually got through!). Tried to call twice since and noticed that they dont like to answer phones! Called again the other day to cancel my order (have bought another stroller since) and got through!! Turns out their 24/7 customer support is outsourced to a call center. It was not a call center where I could get answers, but a call center which is like a messaging service. I am sure the product is backordered, and they said 5-10 days from order, but I would not mind so much if they had some way to track progress, OR at least notified me. You have to jump through hoops to get in touch with customer service, even then, you will not get your question answered. I am waiting for a reply for my order cancelation and will try calling again after the holidays.

I am sure this store is reputable for certain products. i.e. stuff you can get from [L=babies r us]http://www.babiesrus.com[/L]. But anything that is specialty dont buy it from here!

Just as others have commented, I was hesitant at first to order, but the price was just too good to pass up on the PegPerego car seat and stroller bag I wanted. I am extremely pleased to report that my orders were completed without a hitch! I verified that BabyUniverse uses drop-shipments for some of their items, including one I ordered. Very fast shipping, order status updates by e-mail along with tracking info. All were shipped very fast. Too early on the FatCash so I'll just wait and see. Overall a great shopping experience and two great deals!

I was hesitant to order after so many neg's, but went ahead anyway since they had the best price on a Britax carseat/stroller combo I wanted. Took 3 days to deliver, no tax, and free shipping so it was good for me.

This was my first order at BabyUniverse.com, but I'm suspicious about receiving the 6% FatCash, because they unexplainedly placed my order on hold, requiring that I call in and provide all of my billing info again -- over the phone.

I know the comments below are mixed, but my experince with BU was great. Ordered 2 Britax car seats on a Mon, received them on Thur. Super fast delivery for free shipping. Too early to review FatCash process.
Overall, really satisfied with my first BU purchase.

I ordered a car seat from Baby Universe. The estimated arrival time was given as 5 days on the website. Two weeks later, nothing had still been listed in the order status, so I called customer service and was told that the seat was on backorder and not expected for another month. They had already charged my credit card and told me that it would take 2-3 days to refund the charge if I canceled the order. they were pleasant and canceled the order but I thought it was unacceptable that they didn't have the seat and I had to contact them about it.
