I tried to order the Dell Wasabi printer plus additional photo paper that only works with that printer. The price was really low ($28) vs the $100 list price so I though it was a great deal. So I also added an extra pack of paper since it only works with that paper. Dell split my order in two separate orders a day after I ordered. Then without hearing from them, I got another email that the order with the printer was canceled automatically because they ran out. But they did not cancel the order for the paper. What kind of nonsense is this? I was extremely surprised that I had such bad customer service from a company such as Dell. I actually kept getting emails that my paper order was being delayed all the time, and they kept sending me different dates, but they wouldnt cancel. I actually had to call and cancel myself over the phone. They completely ignored all my emails, which I know they received because I was getting automated responses from them. Will I order again from Dell? No. And to think I was about to buy a computer from them!

I just had Dell called me on a Nokia N95 cellphone concerning about a specification. The guy talking over the line tried to sell the phone to me first, and soon get impatient. Then when I asked him if I have to pay the tax, he asked me back that where I don't. I told him Amazon.com collects no tax. He interrogated me why I didn't go to Amazon but call Dell!!! First time I call Dell and the last. No wonder why Dell is going downslope these years.

I purchased a vostro system with a monitor and a printer. However, the sales rep screwed up my phone order. Long story short, that sales rep has cost me enormous time and money plus does not return calls back when there is a problem. Customer service is terrible at Dell and you should be prepared to waste your valuable time with them. But on the bright side my vostro is working fine. This is the info of the sales rep that screwed me over so beware not to purchase anything from this person unless you want a headache: Sales Professional: Aaron Dinwiddie Aaron_Dinwiddie@Dell.com 1-800-456-3355 x 7135161

I placed an order at Dell.com. The next day I was told the order did not go through and my call was transferred to 6 different people and finally a sales person placed another order for me. However, the 3rd day I got the online one confirmed; I called in to cancel it on the 4th day. After 2 days of weekend, email confirmed the cancaled order has been shipped! Called in 3 times, put me on hold over 2 hours total. Each person asked for the same question; I told the same story. What a nightmare~~~~

I tried to purchase a simple peripheral for my laptop PC and the service was beyond atrocious. It seems that the Customer Reps can not solve very simple problems. I bet they are demoralized and Under Paid. I will no longer be dealing with Dell, for all I care they can go to Hell!

I have to say that my experience wiht Dell has been good, overall. But that is because I am one patient son of a gun, and have time to play the online and/or telephone game until I get what they agreed to in our contracts. So, if you're not willing to play the games, and it does seem as though some in this forum have not been able to make Dell squeal by pinching them real hard, if you're not willing to play the huge corporate lost-in-the-shuffle game, go elsewhere. But they have great products and great prices and great people working there, just have to find the great people.

I just ordered a desktop system which I thought was a good price with the $150 MIR offered by Dell. Got a letter the other day saying the packing slip "they" sent to me is invalid packing slip so therefore my MIR is invalid. I'm so upset cause i only got their dumb system because of their rebate. I strongly recommend people not to rely on their rebate scam!! I'll be sure to post this on every forum. Thanks Dell for wasting my time and money!!

Dell is great. Our business has purchased about 10 computers in a 4 year period. We have only had to replace one mother board. Customer support was good (if you got someone who spoke english) Our replacement parts shipped very fast. Dell is very reliable and well built. We were using Gateway computers - had plenty of problems.

Bought a Dell 200gig HD 9/2003 enticed with a rebate promise. Sent rebate paperwork as requested rapidly. Got "rebate accepted and verified" around December 11 2003.
Dell has tried to make it so difficult to get the rebate that I greatly regret the purchase. 6 months of chasing the rebate includind letters to the BBB, TX attorney general, and Consumer Affairs.
Just one look at the Dell mail in rebate forum that they have the nerve to call customer care wikk reveal a sea of not honoring rebates or making it so difficult that people finally give up.
www.dellrebatescam.com is my page dedicated to Dell.
classactioncounsel.com is the website of the law firm that has filed a class action suit against Dell regarding the rebate problem.
I have a Dell PC that runs fine from an earlier purchase. Good thing I am pc adept and don't need CSR. Their motherboard was buggy when I installed a floppy and extra hard drive. I have built many pc's.
Personally I would think about the VERY realistic possibility of spending hours, days, weeks, months, ?years to get tham to honor that rebate. The time you lose is worth a lot more than the rebate.
