I purchased a laptop from Dbuys.com. I found it to be incompatible with a lot of my software. I contacted Dbuys.com and requested a return authorization. Dbuys.com asked if I'd opened the item. Yes. That's a problem the 10 day return policy does not count if you opened and used the laptop. You can not return it. Apparently when you buy something and it arrives you're not supposed to open the box.

When I purchased the item I saw a '10 day return policy' and a 'no hidden fees' proclamation. Information beyond that was concealed from me. According to Dbuys.com it's my fault as the consumer. I told them I was willing to pay the 10% restocking fee. They said they'd bend the rules and take it back with a 20% restocking fee (on $2099). For opening the box.

It's harmful to our economy when businesses can not be trusted. You need faith in the business community for capitalism to succeed. I will not do business with Dbuys.com and I will recommend the same to others.

WARNING: DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. DON'T BE FOOLED BY THIER LOW PRICES, FREE SHIPPINGS and FAKE FEEDBACKS. I should've done my research before making a purchase from DBUYS.COM (IbuyDigital, CameraClub, etc... same people). I was looking for the Nikon D50 SLR digital camera so I can take pictures for my friend's wedding. I did a pricegrabber search on the Nikon D50 SLR camera and they showed up with low prices and good reviews (4.5 / 5 stars) on Pricegrabber. So I thought this seems like a good company to order from. Their website showed that they have it in-stock and usually ship 1-2 days. After they've charged my credit card 3-14-2006, I waited 3 days before I check for the status of my order. "is pending to be shipped". OK fine, only a day late.
next day same thing, so I waited after the weekend, On Monday, check the status again and it's the same thing, so I emailed and called customer service. I was placed on hold over 30mins so I hang up and emailed them. Never got reply back. Now it's been 10 days I've yet to receive any email response or tracking number. Stats is still "Pending to be shipped".
They have my money but no merchandise to show for. I will NEVER do any kind of business with this company and make sure all my family/friends/assisiates do the same. Terrible company to do business with. I've filed a BBB complain and about to file a lawsuit with all the people they've taken advantage of. How these people stay in businese is beyond me. I'm surprised the authorities haven't investigated and shut them down yet.

This is another "box only" web-retailer that is strong on low pricing; aggressive as they call you back and ask to sell add-ons. Why was I not surprised they are very weak on customer service. Surly, "customer-must-be wrong" attitude. Do not answer phones or email without long waits. Not too aware about products they do not carry. Very poor returns policy (10 days but it takes 5 days to receive UPS) TIPUse AMEX card and let AMEX fight with them if you have a dispute!) Caveat emptor.....
