I just activated a new receiver and used promo code: PP10T and was only charged $5.00 for activation instead of the $15.00 fee they usually charge.
Sirius Promo Code for $5.00 activation fee and 10% off everything in your cart! Archived From: Hot Deals |
I just activated a new receiver and used promo code: PP10T and was only charged $5.00 for activation instead of the $15.00 fee they usually charge.
Be advised: only those who purchased their tuners at RadioShaq have reported success using the code. Apparently, Sirius can (and is) mapping ESNs to the retailers that sold the associated units. OP, please edit title and the details contained within your post to reflect this.
I thought it was free if you activated it from RadioShack.. ??
Anyone know how long this is good for? I am getting Sirius for X-mas but won't be signing up until after X-mas.
I did buy my unit from Radio Shack. They gave a rebate of $25.00 in the form of a Radio Shack Gift Card. They didn't tell me anything about getting free activation. I found the code on another forum somewhere after doing a search for promo codes.
BTW,
you are going to love Sirius radio. I have it in my car, and I simply can't listen anymore any regular FM/AM radio stations, or even CDs. If you have a choice, pick Starmate (Replay). It is fabulous.
darn, I just activated 2 new receivers today.
If you activate on-line it's $5.00- no code needed; it's $15 if you call in to a csr to do it. At least that's my experience.
how about xm radio? just purchased it from Circuit City.
Actually, the promo code PP10T gives you 10% off anything you have in your cart at sirius.com
I just activated Sirius online using the PP10T code and it was only $5. The Sirius webpage said it would be $10 online and $15 on the phone so it saved me a few bucks. Thanks for posting it.

I tried to use the code the other day and it didn't work (at least the page said it was $15).
Do you have to sign up for a specific plan/contract (1 year, lifetime)? I only signed up for a month to month thing (right now).
Thanks,

I had some questions on the packages with Sirius, and spoke to a helpful rep. I asked about activating, and she said it is $15 if you call in or go online, but if you activate for a one year plan or more that I should go online and it will only be $10.
Well, I used the PP10T code and signed up for a year, saved me another $10 (almost another free month). THANKS OP, green for you!!
BTW- I found out something interesting regarding the lifetime plan. I bought two radios, and if me and my wife wanted lifetime plans it is $500 each, no discount for the second lifetime plan. Basically the CSR suggested one life plan, and $7/month for the second subscription. She said to transfer the lifetime plan for the three times (three new radios) at $75 per transfer. Than when I want to buy the fourth radio, she suggested I not mention this to Sirius, but instead "add" a third line for $7/m. Beats a new lifetime plan or $13/m for the first plan.
can anyoen reccemened a good unit that I will be able to play in tha car and use on my home stereo ? will the starmate do that ?

How do you know that this code works?
I went to activate (month to month) online using this code. However as I continue through the screens, I got no verification that this promo code was going to effect my cost. Even I get to the last screen where it asks to activate now or schedule a certain date.
I didn't complete because I was not comfortable that ir did anything.
Thanks,
Glenn

No. I just paid $10 for online activation, and it is $15 by phone..
good deal, just in time for Howard Stern.
I know it worked when I did it and then I posted it right away so others could save.
If you are not in a hurry, I would hold off. Once Howard is off FM on an Sirius there should be TONS of promotions (and deals) going on to get people to sign up. Especially for people who commit for an extended period of time.
Kinda like the free MP3 player worth over $200+ some of us got when we signed for 1 year of napster.
