I think all you need is any disc or floppy with an old OS on it don't you?Yes you are correct except that it needs to be 98 or ME. What Fishinginar means is that this is not a full version and you must own a "legal" version of 98 or ME for the machine you are going to install it on.

That was my question - if you have Windows ME on a disc, will this version work?

I was hoping Windows 2k would be eligible for the upgrade, but I checked on Microsoft's website, and userid is correct--it must be 98 or ME.
