I think you entirely missed the point of the mobo the OP linked to... ATX form factor != mini-ITX

OP, you should probably put m-ITX mobo in the title as most people aren't going to know what the DG45FC is and you'll probably wanna also put that it has HDMI in the title. Pretty cool little mobo. Nice to see that you can pack a pretty powerful system in such a small space.

Well, this sounded more like a discussion instead of a hot deal, since this is a regular price mobo. Yes, these are two different boards.

Hmm it says it's not instock anyways. It's avaliable at B&H though for less $139.95

And I guess you're right then that it's not really a hot deal though I don't really know why you would be posting a link to the Asus P5Q as that's completely irrelevant...

B&H doesn't have any in stock neither. Need another 7-14 days.

I have waited for G45 for a while. Still no one has any on shelves yet.

BTW, has anyone seen DG45ID? It's the m-ATX form. That's what I need.

G45s were pushed back until at least later in Aug. So, you'll all be waiting several weeks if anyone tries to order.

Just called Dell rep and they said it will ship out DGG45FC on or before Aug. 3 if order today.

Just curious...other than size, why is this good? I'd rather have a motherboard with nForce 8200/8300 chipset or AMD 780G than any Intel solution. I have an Asus motherboard with nForce 8300 chipset and blu-ray playback is silky smooth in my home theater PC.

It's all about physical size and energy consumption. You can squeeze things things into places whee other mobos won't go. Plus less energy means cooler and (if you do it right) quieter.

Well, I still say for IQ sake, it would be better to go with a motherboard from ATI or NVIDIA. My HTPC is super quiet and I can't hear it power on nor can I hear it when it is active recording a program. And best of all, it upscales DVD's better than any of my set top DVD players can and handles Blu-ray movies as if they were DVD movies.

I actually have a DG45FC in my hands right now, nice looking board, it's a silver unit not final release since it hasn't been finalized yet. Will put it through testing over the next week or so.

Which do you guys think will give better blu-ray 1080p video quality:

-Intel's GMA X4500HD
or
-AMD's HD 3450

TIA
